Any ideas on how to celebrate valentine’s day during the week (since its on Thursday) when you have to stay in? We have two kids in the house, so going out isn’t an option. We do plan to go out that weekend, but still want to show Darling Husband some love and be able to get up for work on Friday.

We’ve got a 15 month old, so we’ll be staying in as well! It’s also our 4 year anniversary of dating. How about just cook a special dinner and dessert, or if money is not an issue, hire a chef to come in and cook so that you can relax? A handmade card to your Darling Husband from the kids is always nice, but you prob thought of that already:)

Have a picnic on a blanket in the living room.
Have chocolate fondue after the kids are in bed.

@little_d: went and bought a card for him today… One from me and one from them! 🙂
Hiring a chep would be awesome, but not sure it’s feasible. Great idea!

We have picnics in the house all the time! Blanket on the living room floor with awesome food and a good movie. We always have a great time.

We have a 6 year old. I just love the sale valentine’s candy the day after. My husband and I make an event of hunting for candy on the 15th and getting double your money’s worth instead of buying it before the 14th and paying full price.

We have an 11 year old. Valentine’s Day is a family “holiday” and we just love to spend time together. We make a delicious new and different meal (I’m thinking some kind of fish or seafood tonight) and enjoy being together. We’ll probably play a family game too. Other than that, we don’t make a big deal out of it.
