@SaraP2012:  That sounds like a great plan!

We don’t have plans as of yet… we probably won,t be doing anything because all our money is going towards the wedding right nowUndecided.  Although, that’s not really a bad thing!  Perhaps I’ll try and think of something cute to surprise him with.

My SO and I are going to a fancy dinner tomorrow night, and that’s about it.  I bought him a few cute cards.  (Last year I made one, but I didn’t feel like buying supplies this year.)  We decided not to do presents because we’re going to Vegas at the beginning of March, but I couldn’t resist and bought him a weight lifting book.  It was only $12, but considering the dinner is probably going to be between $200-250, it was the least I could do.

I’ll be house hunting with my mom on Valentine’s Day. My FH will be in school all day and then at work all night so we aren’t doing anything. I think we’re going to see a movie and I’m going to grill some steaks Thursday though.

I’m excited!

Originally I was going to cook a nice dinner like I did last year (mmm pan seared duck with mashed sweet potatoes), followed by watching a rom com (last year we watched I Love You, Man), but I might end up working late tomorrow and won’t have much cooking time. After realizing the lack of time, Fiance made an executive decision and got us reservations at the restaurant right across the street from our apartment. The bonus is it’s a REALLY good restaurant, they have a prix-fixe menu, and we’ll still have time to come home and watch the movie after.

And for those wondering, we plan on watching Coming to America. Fiance has never seen it (which I was horrified to hear) and it’s the perfect blend of comedy and romance for us.

And to make up for not cooking, I plan on cooking a fancy dinner this weekend for us.

Well my husband told me on Friday (he has to work tomorrow so we celebrated early) that he had a day planned for us & it would be in the evening & last until the night.

That morning he woke me up with one pink rose, yellow gold diamond stud earrings & chocolates. I had told him so long ago that I really wanted some small diamond studs because every time I wear earrings (usually hoops or dangle) they hurt so bad & my ears have even started bleeding before!!! & I have had them done since I was 9. They just never healed right. So I thought it was sweet he remembered! 😛

Then he took me out to a nice dinner that night & to see that new movie “The Vow” which was all his idea & I loved it!

That night I gifted him with a box of nascar chocolates, a card & a stainless steal cross necklace with a small 0.03 carat diamond. He loved it!

We didn’t do anything to big we just celebrated the day together & enjoyed each other with some small gifts. It was perfect!

I love reading these kinds of posts, so I’m actually going to join this one! My Fiance and I made a reservation at a fancy restaurant like a month ago. We’ve gone to the same place every Valentine’s day since we met. The first year, we were just walking around downtown and entered this sort of mall that has a lot of restaurants to see if one had an open table, since we didn’t think ahead to make any reservations. This place did have a table left, and their food was amazing! So now we have to go back every year!

He is getting off work early and we are going to open this bottle of sparkling wine we won at a wedding show, then go off to eat. I have been thinking that I should make him a card using the heaps of sparkly ink and cute stamps and stickers and fancy paper and such left over from the wedding invitations I have been making…

We don’t have any actual Valentine’s plans. Years ago my fiance worked as a server and therefore refuses to go out to eat for Valentines because of all the hype and craziness. So instead in years past we’d make a romantic dinner at home or go out the weekend before. This year we’re not doing anything, but I found something online that I wanted to make my fiance and it turned out SO great and due to my impatience I already gave it to him:

From left to right are the dates and locations of where and when we first met, where and when we got engaged, and where and when we’re getting married.

And for my valentine gift, since he was sad he didn’t get me anything, I asked for clearance vday candy to eat on Friday night, the one day a week I let myself eat unhealthy.

Love that frame with the locations of important dates. Where did you find that?

 @caits615:  I LOVE this idea!

We’ll be going to Melting Pot for dinner tomorrow night. I bought a new dress to wear that he doesn’t know about so that will be a surprise. I gave him his present tonight, a box of Vosges Exotic truffles. He loved them! He gave me a box of Godiva truffles and a chocolate scented Diamond Candle.

@caits615:  Love that! Saw something similar on Pinterest.

I planned for us to go on a 3 mile hike tomorrow afternoon which will even better bc we are to get about 1-2 inches of snow by then. Afterwards I’ll have a lunch ready of homemade chicken soup and homemade hot coco in thermos. He’s making me dinner but while I was working tonight he asked if I could pick up dessert bc he tried making spice cupcakes but something went wrong! I’m interested to see them when I get home in the morning! 🙂

We bought a Dine for 2 for £20 from Marks & Spencer and we’re staying in!

It’s an amazing dinner – scallops for starter, steak and roasted veg for main, chocolate pud for dessert! Box of chocs and a bottle of sparkling wine – all that for £20!

We’ll eat that and watch a movie.

We’re not really big on Valentine’s day. We didn’t even get each other a card! We both work together and spent the entire weekend together visiting family so we’ve had no time to get each other a card/gift.

Some bubbles, a film and a cuddle on the sofa is good enough for me!
