I am in Vancouver.

We are getting married at Cecil Green Park House and then the reception afterwards at the Arbutus Club (their prices are really reasonable and their events manager has been fantastic to work with!)

As for vendors, Interior Flori is our florist (on broadway near Alma), our photographer is Creative Bridal Photography.  I am researching hair and make up ppl but am shocked at the prices, so I would be interested to see if anyone has any suggestions in the lower mainland.

I got my dress second hand actually, but went to the states to try it on (bridal gallery in new west didn’t have it in a size i could get over my hips!) The shop I went to was in Edmonds, WA and it was called cynderellie’s and i loved it there! such a cute shop.  If i hadn’t found my dress half price online from another bride, i definitely would’ve bought from there.  And the Sottero & Midgley dresses (the brand I ended up getting) was way cheaper to buy from the states.

I’m in Langley, but obviously went into Van a lot to shop.  I got my dress from the Briday Gallery.  They had a good selection, but I thought the alterations were pretty pricey (300 bucks for a bustle that broke 20 minutes after putting it up, and a hem).

I am in North Vancouver. I haven’t got very far at all in terms of planning so I have lots of work to do.  I did already buy my dress from David’s bridal in Burlington WA, and I can’t wait for it to come in!

In terms of flowers, I have had a lot of friends use Whole Foods in West Van. They are said to be quite reasonable and look great!

@Baileyh: Wow, your wedding was beautiful! All that hard work definitely paid off!  I had a question about Thea’s lounge: did they provide the catering and were you able to bring in your own drinks (alcoholic and not)?

@kayakblondie Sorry i just saw your post!!! You cna bring in your own catering, at the time when we got married there they had lost their liquor licence so we got to bring in uor own…im pretty sure they have it back now though πŸ™

Ihave to say though that i had an awful experince with the Manager there so i would look into it first a bit…or you can PM and i can give you my number and you can talk to me…:)
