Theme: Woodsy rustic with a romantic vintage twist (Think earthy, wood pieces used as chargers, cake stand, possibly candle holders, natural burlap table runners, lace, pearls and other similar things)
#1 Mason Jars-Love the rustic touch these give.
Large jars for flowers and quart size or smaller lace wrapped candle jars (only jute wrapped on top-minus extras in pic)
#2 Cylinder Vases- Simply Elegant!
Larger vases for floral, smaller lace wrapped vases for candles.

@Miss_Marie: I voted mason jars because of your woodsy rustic theme but, I love the lace vases too! How unique and very beautiful!

Mason jars all the way, will be cheaper and will suit the rustic theme a lot better than vases

@happybbbeee: Unique is what I’m going for 😉 There are so many rustic ideas that I feel are ALWAYS done. I’d like a “casual” semi-formal wedding if that makes sense, which I think the vases would up that compared to mason jars but still go together with theme.
@JMPacker: I’ve actually found in my local stores the prices to be quite comparable with mason jars being only cents cheaper!

I think the Mason Jars look so pretty!

I think all of those pics posted look great!
We’ve got a rustic type feel going (getting married at an old Mill in south England). Our centrepieces are little bottles inside oblong wicker baskets- spilling with flowers of different kinds (no particular colour scheme just tonal).
We’ve got a few mason jars filled with petals and fairy lights to dot around as it gets dark.

I see mason jars at every. rustic. wedding.
So if you’re going for unique, primarily, I’d do something different. But mason jars are cheap and easy.

I love the tall cylinder vases! And I actually have that same picture pinned on pinterest right now. I am doing hydrangeas for my flowers and I love it! I like the mason jars but I agree with the PP that they are a little overdone.

The mason jars look pretty, but honestly, it seems like every other wedding down here has them so I’ve been over them for a while. 🙁 I voted for the vases because its classic and you can still get the rustic look you want without putting canning jars everywhere.

I voted for the vases…..even thou I like the mason jars I tend to like the classic look of vases much more!

I have kind of had my fill of mason jars – and unlike some of the PPs I don’t find anything unique about them.. I feel like I see them everywhere! I voted for vases because I think they will age better and your photos will look less dated in a few years when this whole mason jar fad passes. But hey – your wedding, so if you love it, go for it!

If plain mason jars aren’t your style you could get the antique blue ones (that’s what I did) or paint them. There’s loads of DIY mason Jar crafts, those crafts could be applied to cylinder vases too if that’s what you decided.
I’d imagine far more brides out there opt for cylinder jars over mason (despite what it may seem like on the boards or PInterest). So the comments along the lines of “its been done so much already” should definitely be ignored if that’s what you like.

They all look nice but it sounds like the mason jars would fit nicely with your theme.

I don’t care how played out they are, I love mason jars. They’re cute and cheap and evocative of a pre-convenience life style. If you’re a rustic sort (especially if you love canning) then seriously, go mason jars!
