I have about 10 vegan guests at my wedding of 150. I put a bunch of vegan/vegetarian options on my menu because I want them to enjoy themselves and a good thing to remember is that ANYONE can eat those dishes, but not everyone eats meat so why not have both? I enjoy a good steak, but love a veggie pasta too!

@peachacid:  Is it a sit down dinner?

@peachacid:  You know who can also be super annoying? Carnivores. And vegetarians. And gluten-free friends. And friends who don’t like artichokes. Any group of people, in fact. Teenagers. Cat-haters. Someone’s food choices shouldn’t be joked about any less than calling someone a word. Sorry if you’re offended but as someone with a few deadly allergies, I can assure you it isn’t fun to be “that gal.”

You (or our parents, joint families, etc.) are hosting this event as a celebration of our marriage. That includes dealing with the occasional dietary issue be it vegan, vegetarian or otherwise. That’s what being a good host is about.

@peachacid:  Was vegan for 3 years, and have been vegetarian for a year (so no meat for 4 years). Are you having sit down meals, or buffet style? I went to a wedding of a friend who had buffet style food, they had lots of fruit & veggies, and hummus and pita bread. The veggie pasta is a really good idea, it’s cheap and if you do buffet style I’m sure your other guests will eat it too!
