We scheduled a trip to Vegas in early November before I knew I was pregnant. My husband has a conference there and our two best friends are joining (one who is also attending the conference).
A few questions:
– How were you feeling at 11 weeks? Wondering if I will be too tired and sick feeling to have a good time.
– Were you showing at 11 weeks? I’m a small person (5’2) and wondering if my shortness will make my pregnancy more or less obvious.
– Could you fit into your normal dress size at 11 weeks? I ordered a few vegas appropriate dresses and they are stretchyish. I’m wondering even if they fit, will they be completely inappropriate? (knowing that pretty much nothing one wears in vegas is ever really appropriate!)
I don’t want to cancel the trip and want to have as much fun as possible!

@winniewolf: I am 11 weeks now, and barely showing. I am 5’2″ also. I haven’t gained any weight yet, but my belly feels and looks just a little bloated. I am feeling fine, but I didn’t have too much nausea anyways (no puking, only gagging), but I am tired. But I don’t think I would be too tired to enjoy a vacation, even if I did need a quick nap before dinner or something. I still fit into all of my clothes, but that I think is unusual. See, I lost 15 lbs before getting pregnant, so all my pre-pregnancy clothes are actually still too big for me. I am going on a cruise at 13 weeks, and I am not buying anything special because I doubt I will be too much bigger. BUT, if I hadn’t lost the weight, I bet my pants would be too tight at this point, so I can’t really give you advice on that part!

@winniewolf: I felt great at 11 weeks (it was only a week ago…hehe). I started to get my appetite back and I wasn’t as zonked during the day. Have you started to show at all? I’m 5’3″ and haven’t started showing yet (although my lower tummy feels more firm).
Stretchy dresses are the norm in Vegas! As long as your comfortable, wear ’em!

I am 11 weeks and 1 day today. I do feel slightly better than I did a few weeks ago, for me week 9 and 10 have been the worst so far. but I still dont feel like myself, I still feel naseaus throughout the day , fluctuating appetite and constant bitterness in my mouth even after stopping and switching my prenatals. I’m 5ft 11 and I’m not showing at all in the mornings but as I eat throughout the day my tummy starts to stick out in this weird bloat and then I cant keep my pants zipped up and have to wear long shirts to cover it

At 11 weeks I can think of nothing I would like to do less than go to Vegas. I had to go to a bachleorette party @ 11 weeks and I wanted to die.
I know for most people, the first trimester exhaustion is shocking. And morning sickness is a really incorrect term. It goes on all day and night. And also you will most likely be starving. Or maybe you won’t be. I was totally miserable from about week 7 to week 14.
I wasn’t showing at 11 weeks but I definitley could not fit into my little “vegas worthy” (haha) clothes and dresses. Your body just starts to look weird, before you actually pop and look pregnant. Nothing fit right, and getting a cute non maternity dress in a bigger size didn’t work for me. I’m normally a 0 or 2 and I bought a dress that was a 4 for the bachelorette party and it still looked huge/wrong but my stuff didn’t fit. I just got a black maternity dress. It was sooo much more comfortable, and honestly all I could think about was not puking and I didn’t care what I had on. I’m sorry that this is probably not what you want to hear. I am not a fan of the first trimester. A second trimester Vegas trip would be much better!

Thanks everyone! We can’t cancel this trip (well, I could bag it, but wouldn’t do that to my husband or to my best friend who is TTC but not yet pregnant). So, I’m definitely going…it’s just a matter of how much fun and how I will look when I go!
I’m only 5 weeks 1 day right now and the only thing looks different about me is my boobs (a welcome change, though!) Right now, I feel a little more tired and no morning sickness yet (just some queasiness when I’m hungry).

Was in the exact same situation as you in June. We had a trip to Vegas planned with friends and I was 11 weeks pregnant. I still had a great time. I avoided the clubs as I wanted to protect my stomach getting hit and the loud noise (there is no proof whether music/noise is comforting or distressing to a fetus, so I didn’t want to take any risks). But, I still went to bars/lounges, enjoyed dressing up, gambled and overall had a great time. Was I able to stay out till all hours of the night? No. Was I able to enjoy all the amazing food that my friends were enjoying? No. Was I able to lay out at the pool all day long with my friends? No. Would I have had more fun if not pregnant? probably. But, I’m glad I went.

I was much closer to Flamingred, I pretty much spent 11weeks flat on my back on the couch, and if I could haul my ass into the shower, I considered it a successful day. I had BAD morning sickness, (all day sickness) and no food sounded good.
As far as clothes go my jeans fit weird (and I LOST a lot of weight first trimester), and even my shirts weren’t quite right, but I could fit into them. My body was definitely shapped differently though, so you might want to wait until before you go and see how your body is looking.
I hope that you have an easy time of it, and that you feel up to your vacation, I really do. But, at 11 weeks, if someone had come to me and offered me an all expenses paid trip to anywhere, I would have turned it down. I can’t say it any more clearly than that 🙁

Thanks for your responses ladies! I guess at the end of the day there is no way to know how I will look or feel in 5.5 weeks!
