Darling Husband and I are planning on going to Las Vegas for our first anniversary at the end of March. We are now trying to choose between these two hotels. Any advice from fellow bees would be much appreciated!
EDIT: I tried to add an “Other, comment below” option to the poll, but I accidentally hit enter and now I don’t how to add it.

You can’t go wrong with any of the City Center properties. Cosmopolitan has more of a party atmosphere, Aria is a bit more sophisticated. I’d also recommend checking out Vdara- that’s my all time favorite Vegas hotel.

I’ve stayed at both and Agree with the PP. Cosmo is younger and has better clubs and casual restaurants. It’s also closer to the strip. The pool there is not good – tiny, very shallow pool with no shade, trees, etc. Aria is more upscale, slightly older crowd (like 30s/40s compared v 20 year olds) with better restaurants. DH and I like gambling at Aria better, and we like the rooms better at Aria.
if you stay at the Cosmo, make sure you get late night secret pizza!

It definitely depends on what atmosphere you want. I’m pretty obsessed with the Cosmopolitan because it has everything I’m interested in – better clubs, newer building, nice rooms, and pretty trendy. But then again, I’m 22 so, as PPs have hinted, my age and interests may influence that. I think it’s SUPER nice but if you want something perhaps a bit more refined, the Aria is lovely.
My all time favorite hotel, though, is the Wynn Encore. The suites and pools are lush and the buffet is out of this world.

I prefer Aria. I think the casino is better there and they have one of the most popular poker rooms on the strip (important to Darling Husband lol). But they’re like right next to each other so going to both isn’t a problem as far as food/clubs, etc.

Either one is good I think. We just spent a week at aria for our wedding. The corner suite was amazing !

Aria hands down. It’s amazing.

Aria is definitely more sophisticated and the adult version of the cosmo. I like their casino a lot more too.

Aria and Cosmo are both really good choices, but for a wedding I love love love the Mirage, because there are so many fantastic places for photo shoots there. The volcano, the rain forest, the massive sign at the Beatles-themed bar (its name is Revolution and the letters are big enough for you to climb up in, and if you are looking from the right angle, it spells LOVE). Great photo ops, probably some of the best in Vegas.

If you stay at the Cosmo, get a fountain-side room. We stayed in a suite there for part of our honeymoon and it was so fun to watch the Bellagio fountains – we could see them from the bed. And regardless of where you stay, I second the “secret” pizza – it’s a do not miss. We enjoyed Wicked Spoon too and we’re not huge buffet people and Jaleo was really good. If you’re thinking about doing a Cirque show, I really liked Zarkana at the Aria.

CityBearBride: That late night secret pizza is the best!! We ordered a whole pizza and took it back to our room at the Vdara; I was not expecting it to be so big.

Both are great. I slightly prefer Cosmo…more energy there compared to Aria (generally speaking), but it of course depends what type of atmosphere/vibe you’re going for.

Cosmo! When we went to Vegas, we stayed at the Luxor. It was down on one end of the strip, but we liked it. You can take cabs or the transit system to get everywhere. I fell in love with Cosmo when we walked through it! And it’s right in the middle. Aria was pretty too, but I liked the vibe of Cosmo better. We aren’t big partiers or gamblers, but we did like the shows and the food. The Venetian was a pretty cool hotel too! If you want the best buffet ever, go to the Rio. It’s off strip.

I stayed at the Aria for my 21st (thanks to SO’s mom who got comped rooms.) For me, personally, it was way too upscale. I arrived in sweats and a jacket and immediatly felt out of place and underdressed every time I came back to my hotel. The room was INCREDIBLE though, and it was certainly beautiful, so if you’re looking for “high class” you certainly can’t go wrong. For me personally, however, the vibe and energy at the Cosmo makes it my preference.
