Help! We are wanting to elope in Vegas but I don’t want a cheesy Elvis chapel. We are trying to keep it under 3k. Ideally I would like an outdoor evening ceremony. I have seen a few chapels that do all inclusive packages but the photography looks terrible/tacky. How do I plan an elopement?? (I live in Illinois)

Are you planning on having guests? Vegas is easy for weddings, they have packages ranging from $150-1000 or more, with photos included, up to a number of guest etc. I remember looking at the price list of what they offer but its been so long ago I don’t remember all the details. And ofcourse they did have an Elvis package, lol! Not sure about outdoor weddings in Vegas. Maybe at a golf course or country club near the strip? The one I had been to was at a hotel (Venetian I believe). Check out the major hotels and see what they offer too, maybe it will be more elegant if that is what you are going for. Also you can hire your own photographer.

Do you really mean elopement, ie no guests, just you and him? Because that won’t take much planning, just a chapel and dinner . If you mean a small wedding with a few guests and a reception, pp above has some good ideas.

What about an outdoor dessert elopement? I saw a vendor called cactus and lace online and the photography looked super pretty. Plus sunset in the dessert would be so golden!!!

- Wedding: May 2019 - Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress
The Flamingo has inexpensive packages and beautiful outdoor locations.

Seconding the Flamingo suggestion! I know Caesars and the Bellagio both have outdoor sites available for elopements. Caesars is a garden, Bellagio is on a terrace near their fountains. Beware that most of the big resorts require you to use their in-house photographer if that matters to you. Valley of Fire state park is beautiful if you want an outdoor desert setting.
Planning will be super easy because these venues have entire staffs dedicated to exactly this! I am also planning a Vegas wedding from far away and since most of their brides I think are out of state, they know what to do.

My husband and I got married in Vegas 7 1/2 years ago with just us and my parents. We got married at Chapel of the Flowers. I loved it and my pics are great and not cheesy Vegas pics. If you have more questions feel free to ask! Here is two examples of pics. We got married indoors but they have outdoor options. The first was during the ceremony and second outside after ceremony.

My first marriage was in the garden at Caesars, and it was beautiful. The long-distance planning was very easy and overall I was very pleased with everything. My one complaint was my photographer…didn’t really seem to know where to go for nice shots, and he just seemed rushed. I had also booked/paid for an additional half hour of photography time, and he clamined to know nothing about it. They did compensate us for that with a nicer photo album and additional prints.
