I’m not sure what kind of experience you’re looking for, but if you’re going to be out and about and just want a nice room to stay in, I highly recommend Circus Circus’s West Tower. Fiance & I went to Vegas last year and stayed there for literally $35/night during the week and $65/night on the weekend. That deal can’t be beat – only the West Tower rooms are renovated though!
And I definitely recommend you splurge on at least one show. Tickets are expensive (expect about $100/per person) but sometimes you can find deals on the day of. I’ve seen Blue Man Group, Beatles LOVE, and Zumanity and all were incredible and worth every single penny!
Also, if you’re okay with walking a bit, I’d buy monorails passes for the week, which can limit the amount of money you spend on cab rides. A 3-day pass is only $30 according to their website and they stop at all the major casinos along the strip.
Hmm…I think that’s it. Have an incredible honeymoon!

Hi, I just wanted to post and say that I live in Vegas and there are wonderful deals to be had. If there is anything you find that you have questions about I’d be more than happy to let you know how it is. Good luck!

Woohoo we are going to Vegas for our honeymoon in October!!!! We are staying Sunday to Friday @ the Bellagio and we are pretty excited – a little overwhelmed at all the fabulous things to do and places to eat/drink!

*Sigh* I love the Bellagio

@CShell – mind sharing some of the deals you know about? Or any “MUST DOs” while out there?
@MssCremeBrulee – we ate at the CraftSteak restaurant @ the MGM Resort @ Foxwoods Casino. DELICIOUS!!!!!! Such a relaxing dinner and delish!

We are also in Vegas monday-thursday in August!
How do I get the best hotel deal – by booking with a coupon code now, or by not booking in advance and just find something when we arrive?

@Danish – we booked through a travel agent – We are staying at the Bellagio from Sunday to Friday. We have a Lakeview Room (a littlestep up from the Deluxe room – hoping they give us an upgrade! haha). We are paying $2100 total – do’t know if that is a good price but we didn’t want to get screwed and have the airfare go up during the summer months.
Don’t know which hotel you are looking at but I know my Fiance signed up for email through the Bellagio and they are always emailing him special deals….check it out!

Good idea – I’ll try to sign up for specials through the hotels. I’m still not sure where we’ll be staying. Encore at Wynn sounds amazing, but I’ve heard it isnt that central.

We stayed at the MGM and loved it! I would recommend getting the Lonely Planet Las Vegas. We used it so much and it saved us a ton of money on shows and stuff.
I also took the book around to all my friends who have been to vegas and got them to tag all thier favorite things to do.

I have stayed at the Flamingo, MGM, Mirage, Golden Nugget, and believe it or not – HOOTERS (when it was the San Remo hahaha).
My favorites were MGM and Mirage. Mirage is right in the middle of everything. I loved MGM too but it’s a little further up the strip. My advice would be to choose among the Bellagio, Venetian, Caesers, Mirage, or Planet Hollywood. They are all very nice and updated. Stay away from Harrahs, Imperial Palace, Tropicana (disgusting smell in there), Bally’s…If you want upscale definitely check out Wynn, Encore, Palazza/Venetian, and Bellagio.
Everytime I’ve been to Vegas we are rarely in our rooms. Granted, I’ve never been there for a honeymoon so it may be different on that occasion! But overall, i recommend staying centrally located in the Strip.
Check out some shows and HAVE FUN!!!! 🙂

I just got back from Vegas! So much fun. We stayed at MGM this time, they have the best pool, but the hotel is feeling dated. I wouldn’t try to base your hotel decision on a central location, basically everything is too far to walk to in Vegas and you end up taking cabs everywhere you go. We went to a restaurant at the Wynn and the hotel was GORGEOUS!!! I definitely plan on staying there next time I go back.
As Sarahsd recommended, Mon Ami Gabi at Paris was excellent, and we ended up eating there twice! Brunch on Sunday was the bomb, and the prices were very reasonable for Vegas. If you are looking for the fountain show though, go to the Fontana bar at Bellagio. Overlooks the lake and they have yummy cocktails and snacks. Mesa Grill was so good too for a fancier dinner, I think that was Caesar’s. Bartalotta at Wynn was super fancy, but awful, don’t go there.
