What’s the one with the eiffel tower? That’s always been my favorite!

ETA: Just googled and I see why none of the names on your list sparked my memory πŸ™‚ It’s the Paris Las Vegas Hotel. πŸ™‚ I also really love The Venetian.

I was in Vegas over NYE and stayed in the Venetian. It was superb.

We saw the burlesque cirque show at NYNY and the jousting show at the Excalibur (honestly, this show was one of the highlights of my trip and the reason I say “huzzah” now). And probably some more, that I can’t remember (for obvious reasons ;)). The bodys exhibit was going on at the Luxor too. I don’t think there’s really anywhere on the strip that isn’t awesome

I have stayed at Paris several times. I have also stayed at Planet Hollywood and Bally’s. I like all 3 of them. Of the ones you have listed I would choose Palms. I wouldn’t stay at Flamingo because it has this really bad smell that makes me feel sick. Ewww.

also, if you’re willing to be a little more spontaneous, tix4tonight has great deals on tickets for shows that day. You will have to get up and have a couple shows in mind. We saved a whole lot doing that.

I wouldn’t personally stay at Circus Cirsus.  It is kind of tacky and older and on the not so nice half of the strip IMO.

I’ve stayed at Flamingo.  It was okay for the price and has a nice pool.

If I went again, I would probably stay at MGM of Excalliber due to the prices and the nice pools.

If I had the $ I would stay at the Venetion.

OUt of those I would chose MGM because of their awesome pool.

I would highly discourage you from staying at Excalibur.  I stayed there a few years ago on a last minute vegas trip and it was gross.  The room was ok but the actual hotel and the pool we just so icky.  Everything was very old and overrun with family and children.  Not a fun, young environment at all.

Where did you find the deals on these hotels?

If you end up staying at the Venetian, be aware it is on one end of the strip (though cab fare to the other end is totally worth it. Learn from us and don’t walk the whooooooole strip). We had a suite that wasn’t strip-side and the sunrise/set on the desert was even more beautiful, once you looked past the ugly parkade, than the strip.

I vote for the MGM, however, I think a nice hotel for a reasonable price is the Monte Carlo, semi-across from the MGM.  The reason I like it bc there’s a tram that connects you through the Aria, Cosmpolitan and the Bellagio so you dont have to walk. Planet Hollywood is also across the street.

My favorite hotel is the Venetian, every room is amazing.  Make reservation at Tao for dinner and enjoy the club there afterwards and you dont’ have to wait in line or pay entrance fee if you eat there.

I live here in Vegas and have stayed at most of the hotels on the strip (stay-cations) or a family member has stayed there.  I know the prices can be tempting, but I would definitely stay away from the Excalibur and Circus Circus as far as accommodations.  I think you will be very disappointed.  Personally, I’m not enamored with any of the hotels listed in your poll.  If you have the money and/or can get a good deal on a room, I would definitely recommend the Venetian/Palazzo (great location), the TI (Treasure Island – they recently renovated), the Paris, any place in City Center (Aria, Vdara, Madarin Oriental), even the Monte Carlo (again, great location).  Although I haven’t stayed there, Planet Hollywood is supposed to have nice rooms.  Also, the Cosmopolitan just opened and is supposed to be really cool.  The pool at Mandalay Bay is awesome and The Hotel (the separate all-suite hotel) is very nice and often has deals.

Just my two cents….Hope it helps!
