When we decided to get married and plan a December wedding..we discussed our honeymoon..ive rarely travelled anywhere.
We had initally planned to take a post wedding moon- like in January ( we own a time share and our week 2nd week of jan). We had wanted to be able to spend the holidays withmy children, family & friends.
However I happened to have won a Mini Moon. I was third place winner ( grand prize was 5 days in hawaii). I won 3 days in Las Vegas/Reno/Lake Tahoe.
Im happy we will be able to take the Mini Moon the day after the wedding and be home in time for full Xmas festivities.
I want to go to Vegas ..He wants to go to Lake Tahoe ( hes been there before..ive never been anywhere close). He thinks Vegas isnt a romantic place for a honeymoon. I wouldnt mind being at the more romantic Lake Tahoe..however I just cant get past that we can go to VEGAS And have a little spending $$$- Am i not being romantic?
What are your opinions Ladies? Also, what are places for us to visit/see when we go?

Welll…..I’m getting married in Vegas so I think you can have a good time there. It’s more than just a bunch of drunk people. I wouldn’t want to go somewhere he’s been already. I would want a new adventure together, especially since a “moon”.

Although I can see where you are comming from, I totally agree with your fiance. I think Lake Tahoe would be much more romantic, and relaxing. While, I think Vegas could be a good couples trip, I don’t really see it as very romantic. Although, I could be wrong. Either way a compromise is going to have to be made. Maybe you can find a more romantic place in Vegas, although, I doubt you can find any thing really low key.
My vote is Lake Tahoe, Goodluck!

You can make any place romantic if you really want to! We aren’t going to take our big European honeymoon until March/April, so we’re thinking a mini-moon to Vegas in December would be perfect. We looked into Lake Tahoe, but it seems everything is geared towards skiing and winter sports – totally understandable for the season, but just not at all what we’re into. We’re looking at the Aria in Vegas, which has amazing “romantic” packages, with massages, spa deals and fun couples stuff. There are shows to see (including some adult only ones) and a million romantic places to eat. Of course I’m biased, but I’m just super excited since I’ve never been to Vegas before!
