How is the weather in Las Vegas during New Years? I have never been to Vegas, but when I look at tags on social media sites everyone is in sequin dresses and looks beautiful, but realistically how should we pack? We will be gambling some but we will also be taking a helicopter ride through the grand canyon and we plan to rent a car and do some sight seeing.

I am a native and Jan-Feb tend to be our coldest months. It depends on where you are from on whether or not you will think it is that cold. The coldest it has been is in the 20s, most winters it is around the upper 30s to low 40s. Pack pants and a jacket/coat. You should also pack whatever clothing you want to go out in (dresses, skirts, etc.). It isn’t freezing by any means most winters, you can get by wearing a cute short dress as long as you have a jacket with you. Hope that helps!
ADD: It isn’t uncommon for us to have random warmer days in winter, around the 50s. Also, just a tip, if you are from a more humid climate, bring lotion! It is very, very dry.

Thanks! I LOVE cold weather but I don’t want to be underdressed and catch a cold on my honeymoon. I am from Georgia and our winters have been pretty cold here lately. Last winter it got down to the 20’s and teens but only for a couple of nights. I can’t wait to see all of the beauty Nevada has to offer!
