Does anyone have suggestions for vegetarian hor d’odurves for our cocktail hour? Most of our guests are vegetarian (it’s an Indian wedding). We’re planning on doing some Indian appetizers but we’d like mix it up with some American/Italian/Mexican appetizers too.

We had caprese bites (mozzarella, basil, and cherry tomatos on tiny skewers) which was memorable and delicious. I actually can’t remember what else we had (everything was vegetarian) because husband and I were getting photos done at that time and we didn’t get to eat much of it!

Ooh yummy Indian is the best cuisine! My husband is Indian and a chef, and I’m vegetarian – my dream has come true! Hehe
For a non-Indian veg apps I love asparagus vol-au-vents – totally old school and doesn’t really match with Indian but they are so yummy. Also like arancini balls.

I always like to see fruit and veggies. May be boring, but it’s nice to have some healthy options.
Crostini with ricotta or goat cheese with fruit or honey, black bean taquitos, chips and salsa or guac, hummus pinwheels, cheese stuffed jalapenos, bruschetta.

bluseye : Love falefel! I like the falafel slider idea that meegwan suggested.
claroquesi : Hmm interesting. I think we’d like to keep it a solid food, but that looks yummy!
lindsayE : That sounds amazing! Everyone knows patties are the best part 😉
mahadewi : Haha sounds like you found the perfect guy! I love the asparagus idea; we are having an Indian caterer, so I’ll ask him if he’d be able to make these. From Google Images it looks like a puff pastry?

bywater : Never had this, is the paneer melted like nacho cheese?
