Can anyone recommend a vegetarian dish that’s has the same “vibe” at buffalo wings? Planning a little get together and right now we’re making/serving:
Kale chips to snack on
Celery and carrots
Of course we have at least one vegetarian coming. I found a recipe for cauliflower buffalo bites, but my vegetarian friend doesn’t like cauliflower. And I want him to have something more substantial to eat than a few veggies.

Does your friend eat meat alternatives? Ex. Morningstar, GardenBurger etc? Because Morningstar’s frozen Buffalo wings are awesome and even my major meat-eating husband and other family members love them. Some vegetarians don’t like to eat the alternatives though, so I guess it depends on your friend. Good luck!

If you’re feeling brave/have the time, make buffalo tofu! You essentually make it the same way that you would make breaded, buffalo chicken tenders. I don’t really follow a recipe when I make it, but this looks similar to what I do: http://ohmyveggies.com/buffalo-tofu-wings-with-creamy-ranch-dip/
If you want to make something super easy, buy Gardein “Chicken” fingers, cover them in buffalo sauce, then follow the baking instructions on the package.

i’ll check those out. i’d really like to do something homemade, but maybe that’s not the best idea.

great! it sounds like it’s delicious. i told my friend a little more about the cauli bites and i think he’s now on board. i think the breading and sauce will overpower the cauli anyway. i kinda want some too now.

A salad with some other protein (such as beans- think chickpeas) would be a nice accompaniment to your menu. Other people will likely have some as well!
