@laurajo:  You look BEAUTIFUL! I love your dress, and am totally swooning over your ring! I would personally go with a softer veil, but think that the birdcage will look great too!

@laurajo:  I do yes, but I’m loving your instincts and your style!

I LOVE the color of your dress. It is so flattering on you. I was having a similar problem, since I’m wearing the Maggie Sottero Embrace in ivory over light gold. I ended up choosing some rose gold swarovski earrings that I think will look really nice with the dress.

Here’s a picture of me in the dress and the earrings:

Also, I agree with @pengoala about the veil. Your dress is so soft and romantic, I think a longer veil will compliment it more. But honestly, whatever you choose, you’re going to look gorgeous!!!!

@laurajo:  Thank you! I was searching high and low for something that would compliment both me and the dress. Like you, ‘traditional’ bridal jewelry wasn’t really doing it for me. I actually got those on ideeli.com. They have flash sales for higher end clothes and jewelry. It’s free to sign up and I was just stalking the site until these popped up. They’re Givenchy, normally almost $50 and I got them for $25. I was just not willing to spend a ton of money on big, blingy bridal-y stuff. πŸ™‚ I also have an account with hautelook.com, which is pretty much the same thing.

@laurajo:  I love your style!! And the color of your dress! What about simple pinkish pearls? I have a hard time wearing costume jewelry, so I’m planning on just weari g pearl studs and a single pearl on a white gold strand. I agree with a longer veil as well. Or you could just do simple flower or hair comb?

You’re so pretty in your dress! I don’t think you need much, given your dress is already so detailed and dramatic. I think a pair of drop earrings, vintage-style, would be really pretty. And in rose gold to tie in with your engagement ring, and your hair!

I would also vote for a more traditional veil, just because there’s a lot of volume in your skirt and I kind of feel like a birdcage or bubble veil would compete with that.

Your dress is beautiful!  I agree with a lot of the PP regarding a longer veil.  I love that your ring has a warmer rose gold look – why not stick with the theme?  Maybe look for a small pendant necklace and, depending on what you’re doing with your hair, either a fun pair of drop earring or studs in the same sorts of colors?  Let us know what you end up with!

Your dress is so lovely, but I don’t think a birdcage goes well with it…a chapel length, razor edge veil would look fabulous. Take the veil off for the reception and put on a ribbon headband to match your sash…..but not too matchy matchy. I think your only jewelry should be rose gold pearl drop earrings.

When you go back in for a fitting, try on some veils there and see what you think.

And your shoes are to die for πŸ™‚
