I was recently offered an antique waltz-length mantilla veil by a family friend (something borrowed!). However, since it’s an antique it is not exactly the same shade of ivory as my dress, but a bit darker. Does it really matter that they are exactly the same shade? Will anyone be so nit-picky as me? Thanks!!

No one will notice but you. I’m completely jealous, it sounds like something really cool, and it’ll be in all your photos! I wouldn’t worry about it matching, you really can’t tell in person or with photos (for veils) whether or not it matches.

Thanks! That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ll try to post some pictures so people can see the difference in shades.

I say go for it! Getting such a cool gift like that to use is a sheer honor. ROCK IT! 🙂

I think you’ll be fine. I’m borrowing my best friend’s veil and just crossing my fingers that the ivories match. If not, I’ll only have it on for the ceremony and I can live with the color difference.
Even if yours isn’t an exact match, does it even have to be? I don’t think anyone will notice either.

I think you are a very lucky girl! That just sounds beautiful and a perfect something borrowed! Nobody will notice the slight color difference and if you need more reassurance, post pictures when you get them, but I’m sure the special veil will look lovely!
