I had no idea picking a veil would be so difficult! I’m wearing the Maggie Natasha and at first I thought I wanted a fingertip or elbow length veil but they more I try different ones on the more I question it. I have chubby arms and I feel the veils widen my arms and that I look like a Virgin Mary sillouette from the back. I also dislike the scratchy poofy veils. Here is a pic of my dress. Any suggestions on what type of veil?

A simple raw edge cathedral? It can be dressed up or down depending on how formal your wedding is. If you wear it in the back with an updo, it wont come down ackwardly on your arms. Beautiful dress By The Way

I agree with misschickpea, definitely cathedral length and something simple.

I would agree with a cathedral length veil. They are beautiful and won’t cut you off at all from the back view. Your dress is gorgeous also!

Thanks ladies for the suggestions! I don’t know why it didn’t dawn on me until now that I should try a cathedral veil.
@misschickpea: I like the way the veil flows when it is low but I think I have to wear it higher if I want a blusher right? Thats were I run into the problem with the veil draping around my arms making me appear wider. I haven’t tried on a cathedral veil though so will have to see how it looks.

Cathedral veil would be BEAUTIFUL with your dress!! I also am uncomfortable with my arms, and a veil worked just fine for me!

@lovelykitty: I’m not sure how low you mean… I wore mine lower in the back, with a blusher no problem… Another option, if you do a cathedral length veil is to buy a separate one-layer veil to put in as a blusher, then you can purchase whatever length you want 🙂

@Jenlon: your veil and hair look good. Thats actually what I want to do. Put part of my hair up hair into a big bouffant and the 1st tier of the veil under that and the top over my bouffant or whatever I plan to do. I wasn’t sure if it would work but I’ve seen others with drop veils and it looks really good! I’m so excited!

I wore a super skinny cathedral length veil. We took a standard veil, cut it in half, and sewed it to a comb. sorry the pic isn’t great. It’s a candid from the family.
