So for the Bees that did a first look and wore a veil, did you wear your veil then or save it for the ceremony?
Debating if I want to put it on before the ceremony for our first look pictures or wait? It is 108″ long so – Cathedral length but no longer than my train so not sure it will be any more trouble

Hmm I could argue either way on this topic, but I love the look of cathedral veils, so I vote you keep it on for as long as possible! 🙂

I had a long cathedral length veil as well, I wore it for my first look. I don’t think I would have been able to get it in my hair all pretty and in place without my hair stylist, who left when I left for my first look.

I’m wondering the same thing! If we do the first look inside I think why not wear the veil, but if it’s outside I’d worry about it getting caught and snagging on a branch or twig or something…

I had a birdcage veil and wore it during our first look. I wanted to be in my full bridal glory (lol) when my husband saw me for the first time. Plus, my hairstylist pinned it in my hair and there’s no way I would have been able to properly reposition it.

I didn’t wear it for my first look, but I kinda wish I had. I thought it would be nice to have Darling Husband not see the entire look before the ceremony, so I decided not to put on the veil. But in hindsight that really wasn’t anything, and there are so few photos of me with the veil since I only wore it during our very short ceremony. Plus since it got put on right before the ceremony, in a room without a mirror, I didn’t get to check it before I went down the aisle and I would have liked it to have been placed a little differently. So I say wear it during the first look, even though I didn’t do that 🙂

I have a veil that goes to the bottom of my butt and I can’t decide if I want to wear it for our first look or not yet either. I think I’ll make the decision the day off when I see myself fully dressed.

I’m glad you posted this. I am debating the same thing. I am also having a pretty long veil and we are doing our first look 5 hours! before the wedding and taking pictures with the bridal party. I was debating on waiting until we got to the venue to put on my veil. If your first looks isn’t too far off from you ceremony time then I say wear it.

Oooh, I didn’t even think of this. But now that it’s been brought up, I think I may leave it off, so there’s something special to add for the ceremony.
