I think you can still do a manitlla if its what you really want.  As long as the trim is thin like this one

You could also do a cap like this one if which still has a mantilla element but with only the lace on the head

I think you can incorporate lace a but if your still not for it, you have a ton of options.  Please dont think Im suggesting particular veils from these sellers, just the style.
