I had this same question.  My dress was quite white and my veil was an antique, very off-white lace veil.  I have some pics in other posts of them together.  You could tell a difference but no one seemed to think it was a big deal.  If anything it seemed to help the pattern of the lace pop a bit and give it the antiquey look.  My Mother-In-Law washed it in a tub with lots of water and a tiny bit of bleach to try and whiten it, which worked a bit.  But dilute the heck out of the bleach because you don’t want to hurt the fabric.  And then make sure you make a different bathtub of just water and really wash off any bleach residue so it doesn’t eat through the fabric.  Good luck!

Even if the colors don’t match exactly, I think a little contrast will be fine.  It will show off your veil instead of blend in with the dress. No one is going to critique it and say it doesn’t match.
