I said yes to the dress today! I wanted something simple but beautiful, to fit our farm themed wedding and finally found it.
The picture doesn’t even capture how beautiful the lace and beading is, but that’s okay. π
There is an illusion neckline, and as you can see in the picture I do have a veil on, but that’s not what I bought. I actually hate that veil with the dress, but was taking different pictures with all of them to decide later which one I liked best. I actually hate all of them though. Haha The dress has an illusion neckline, and every veil I tried, whether it was long or short, completely took away from it. Any suggestions on a particular style that might go with this? Or alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on finding your dress π I always say yes to a veil, I think they look so romantic!
I also was worried about my veil taking away from my dress. If you are worried about this you can do what I did, and order a veil in a sheer width (54 inches). With a sheerer veil you can see a lot more detail on your dress through the veil itself because there is less fabric. Not sure if I am describing what the difference in sheerness is very well, but this website was super helpful to me:

Also you could just get a raw edge (or horsehair!) if you think the beading on the edges is too distracting. Or have the beading/lace/whatever edges start further down, so they are just on the bottom and not around your face.
I think your dress is gorgeous and would be magnified by a longer veil! I think the shorter ones are a bit distracting around the shoulders but a long veil just makes the look! π
And if you decide you really don’t want a veil in the end, I think a flower crown would look fantastic with your romantic flowy dress! Is if from David’s bridal? I think I was very close to buying this exact one!

could you wear your veil lower on your head so it doesn’t come around the front so much? I can’t find a link quickly, but there are heaps on pinterest where the veil sits low on the hair (or even underneath it), and doesn’t come around your shoulders, but trails down your back…

I don’t like veils, and I don’t think your dress particularily calls for one. Flower crowns are an alternative, as well as headpieces like these:

bride2bee8192017 : I’ve tried on that dress!! I still think about it honestly haha. It looks beautiful on you!
A gold headband maybe? Or a hair piece? I’m personally not wearing a veil, so a hair piece is how I will be going. You could also wear a veil for the ceremony and remove it for the reception so you aren’t dragging it around.

sapphire27 : It IS from David’s Bridal! π I fell in love with it as soon as I put it on, before even stepping out to look. I just knew it was the one. Which is funny because it was 2 sizes too big, clearly way too big on me, but I just had a feeling about it.
I like all of those ideas! They did have a very simple veil that was only one layer and pretty long, it was beautiful and didn’t look off, paired with that dress. I’m starting to lean towards the headpiece though now that I’ve been doing some digging, possibly a really simple flower crown. We are having a very small wedding, on a farm, and a bit untraditional too. I’m starting to think that the simpler it is, the better. Plus, the flower crowns I’ve seen are stunning.

Ziggy2112 :
Im definitely leaning towards a simple flower crown for this now. π
Plus, now that I’ve had time to think about it, I was on the hunt for the perfect dress that wasn’t too over the top flashy, simple yet beautiful, and I found it! A smple flower crown would definitely complete the look I was aiming for.

bride2bee8192017 : Ah I knew that must be the one! I tried on a single tier cathedral length veil with lace around the edges with your dress, and it was stunning. Probably a bit extravagent for a farm wedding though, I am also getting married outside and I thought it would be a bit of a pain in the wind/dragging on the ground. I would definitely say a subtle headpiece or flower crown then π Here is some of my personal inspo! xx

Commenting to follow this thread. I also plan to have some subtle flowers in an updo, no veil. We’re having a relaxed farm wedding as well, so I don’t want something very formal. Plus this is how FH has asked me to wear my hair π
