I have a form fitting strappless sweetheart lace dress, and I will be wearing my hair up in a curly bun. Should I have a veil or no? If I do then I don’t want it longer than my elbows. Single, double, triple, birdcage..? Ideas and suggestions? Pics appreciated of what you like. 🙂

With what I’m picturing in my head – go with birdcage!

Could you post a pic of your dress? My instinct is birdcage as well, if you don’t want a long veil (though I love floor-length veils with updos personally.)

It’s really similar to this except no belt and it has a small train. 🙂

What’s everyone think of this? If I get a veil, I’m pretty sure that I would like it to be plain.

@erinbacher: That’s beautiful and a perfect length!

I think that one will look great wit your dress. To be honest I think that any style of veil would suit that dress.
It took me ages to decide on a veil, I knew I wanted one with a lace trim but couldn’t decide on a length, in the end I chose this one:
I’ll be wearing it with this hair vine:

I like the plain look, but not with unfinished edges. Is your bun going to be high or low on your head? If high, a simple one or two layer veil affixed underneath the bun would be very pretty. If low, a birdcage would be better, I’d think. Or another type of hair ornament.

i have a form fitting sweetheart neckline dress and I am going for a silk tulle blend raw edge veil, fingertip length. I wish I could afford the pure version
I love silk tulle for its softness the way it moves when the wind catches it … if you can afford it Id recommend it.

I am all for veils. So, if you really want to wear one, then I say go for it.
Here’re some flattering style (w/in your parameters):
Birdcage (classic modern vintage look):
If you go elbow length; I suggest sleek w/a bit of detailing):
Or…plain/simple (*I really like this style):
Or…you can go more avant garde w/the veil:
ETA: I saw your suggested veil, and i think that’d be perfect!

I like the veil you posted! Simple yet classic.

Thank you ladies for all of your feedback! 🙂
@catherinequince: That veil is absolutely gorgeous! I initially wanted one with lace, but could only find ones that had the lace starting at the top & going all the way down. I really like how that only has it at the bottom. Maybe I’ll show both photos to my consultant when my dress comes in and I can try both on! 🙂
@solidarity: I’m not sure if I’ll be wearing my hair high or low. Probably higher though! 🙂 Thanks for the suggestions!

My veil was created by Katy from ‘What Katy Did Next’, she has an Etsy shop but she is in the UK. I would definitely recommend her.
