I think you should wear a veil if you want one.  It’s your wedding–there are no “rules” anymore.

If your Fiance likes the idea & you do too, I say go for it & wear it proudly!

I personally wouldn’t, but I also wouldn’t at age 32 when I got married.

I think your age doesn’t really matter.  If you like it, then wear it.

@bubbly1963:  I’m firmly on the side of do what makes you happy!

The people that would judge you for wearing a veil aren’t even the people whose opinions you should give any creedance to.

I think all brides should wear a veil no matter what their age! Why would age change anything?! your still a bride! It also looks really beautiful in the pictures from side views of you saying your vows 🙂

I definitely wouldn’t ever think “Oh she’s too old to wear a veil” !  If you want to, go for it.  It looks so elegant and bridal.

@MissSweetiepie:  +1

Because when else are you going to be able to wear one! I don’t think age matters at all when it comes to veils. If you and your Fiance both like veils than go for it!

I wore one! I am 36, and felt too old at first as well. But, who cares?!? You’re a bride. Enjoy it! I even went cathedral!

+1 to all those that say go for it!! The fact that you’re a bride give you the option to choose whether or not you wear one, not your age!! 🙂  Be confident and rock it!

Hi @bubbly1963:  First and foremost, I see you are relatively NEW to WBee… so a BIG Welcome to “the Hive”

I am an Encore Bride… and an Older Bee as well (over 50)

And a bit of an “Etiquette Snob… lol” here on WBee… in so much as I know a lot of the Traditional Rules of Etiquette (upbringing / career)…

BUT I am also a woman who understands that Etiquette is merely a guideline, and the important thing to know is WHAT the risk is if you break a rule OR bend one… will there be any consequences… will you offend anyone etc.

For each of us that is a personal choice.
(Just like someone who CHOOSES to blow their nose at the Dinner table)

The GOOD NEWS for you, is Modern Etiquette has made great advancements when it comes to Remarriages (and Vow Renewals)

We all get a Do-Over if you will… and Love Second Time Around** is something now highly prized / celebrated

** And the same is true for time # 3 etc if there have been Spouses who have died.

So gone are the days of just having a Court House option, and a “proper” suit, no real flowers, and all

An Encore Bride can go all out if she so wishes… and YES that the full on White Wedding Gown and a Veil.

So if you find something you like go for it…

I didn’t wear a veil the first time (circa 1980) as we were all about the Victoria look at that time… Fancy Hats, Parasols, Button Boots.  I was hoping to make it work this time round… but alas I just couldn’t find one that suited me… so I went with a nice headpiece instead.  And I loved it.

Hope this helps,

PS… And looking forward to seeing you around The Hive, and getting to know you better in months leading up to your Big Day.

@bubbly1963:   I will be 52 when I am married next June and I plan to wear a comb veil for the ceremony.   I wasn’t aware age was related to wearing a veil – and if it is, I could not care less!!  LOL  Wear a veil if you want to – if it makes you feel uncomfortable, then don’t!  You could wear a birdcage veil, or a headband, or a fancy comb,  – lots of choices!!

I was 40 and wore one, I would never think a bride was too old to wear anything. I think it matters more what he wants to see you in and what you want to wear. Pfft anyone else’s opinions.

@bubbly1963:  Your age is a non-issue! If you like them, wear one!

What’s the style of your dress? I’m going all out with my veil (lace trim and very long, I can’t wait!) but if you’re not sure about going all out (and providing it suits your dress) you can get some super cute shorter style veils.. kind of like the below example! or you could consider the birdcage style?
