Lately I’ve been thinking I really rushed into my veil purchase. It was one of those situations where I fell in love with the dress, the consultant put the veil on just to give me an idea, and I was like, “Yep, I’ll take both!” without really thinking the veil through at all. But now I’ve had more time to think about it and I just feel like the veil is a little too blah. Basically I wanted a really unique dress, something unexpected that people won’t have seen before. I surprised myself and ended up with something a bit more classic, but I do love it.
But now I want to make it more unique with accessories. I don’t think I can just buy a new veil because the one I bought was $300, and I really don’t want to have wasted that. Here’s a pic of the dress with the veil:
I think if I’d of researched it a little more I would’ve opted for something like this and just splurged on it: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/162723587/the-crystal-and-vintage-floral-halo?ref=related-2. But I found this from the same shop, which I also really like and it’s a bit more affordable: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/162718552/painted-crystal-mini-hair-bandeau-minty?ref=related-3. My dress and veil were under budget, so I’ve got a bit of wiggle room and I’m thinking of getting this headpiece to add some more uniqueness to my bridal look. I like that it’s got a bit of minty color to it and that it’s an interesting style, but I’m worried that the headpiece AND the veil I bought will be too much. The veil I bought is pretty simple and relatively unembellished (there’s a bit of subtle beading). What do you think? Is the headpiece and veil combination too busy? It’s hard for me to visualize at the moment so I’m not really sure.
My other issue is how to accessorize the dress. I was thinking of going for blue earrings like these: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/151277738/bermuda-blue-earringssomething-blue?ref=sr_gallery_14&ga_search_query=blue+bridal+earrings&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_page=6&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery. And possibly this yellow bracelet, or something like it: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/129023817/gold-setting-yellow-stone-statement?ref=sr_gallery_11&ga_search_query=yellow+bridal+bracelet&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery
But now I’m worried that mint headpiece + blue earrings + yellow bracelet is also too busy and wild. So I started thinking I’d just do the pale yellow jewelry (do you think pale yellow jewelry even works with this dress? Or am I totally on the wrong track?). Something like this perhaps: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/185102502/yellow-necklace-gray-necklace-vintage?ref=sr_gallery_11&ga_search_query=yellow+bridal+earrings&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery. It’s not a great photo so I can’t really tell. Do you think I should even wear a necklace, or will it take away from the beading on the bodice of the dress? Gah I’m not sure!
If I go for no necklace I might do something like mint headpiece + pale yellow bracelet + these earrings: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/160197394/yellow-swarovski-crystal-stud-earrings?ref=sr_gallery_34&ga_search_query=yellow+bridal+earrings&ga_ship_to=GB&ga_page=4&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery
What do yall think?! I’m really undecided and could definitely benefit from hearing some opinions!
