So, I ordered a veil about a month ago to go with my dream dress. I got the dress for free through a military gown giveaway and I was so wrapped up in how much I loved it that I didn’t even think about the veil they put on me. I said I wanted it to be fingertip length with lace and they put me in this one (pic below – sorry it’s not great). I didn’t have any strong feelings about it at the time but I kind of felt pressured into getting a veil while I was there. My mom purchased this one for $260 and it should come in next month.
The thing is, this isn’t exactly the veil of my dreams. It’s beautiful, but it has tiny scattered rhinestones on it (not my thing) and has small lace appliques instead of a lace border. It’s also pretty puffy in the back, which is something I wanted to avoid, and I honestly think it’s more elbow-length than fingertip when put up in a regular updo. But I suppose I’ll only be wearing it for the ceremony and I’ll wear a hair comb or something for the reception.
It wasn’t until after I bought the veil that I saw pictures of my mother’s veil. It’s exactly what I wanted and was made by my grandmother. I have no idea what condition it’s in but I don’t even want to ask to see it because my mother already spent this money on the new veil.
What do you bees think I should do?
