Hello Bees! I recently purchased my dress, the lovely Amsale Harlow. I am going back and forth about whether to wear a veil or not. Or wedding is in July, it will be outdoors in the early evening. I bought the Sara Gabriel Lorraine clip and thought I would just wear it in my hair, on the side with my hair up, or even down. But I’m a little worried that without a veil, it might be tooo casual. I am a natural kind of person, but I do want to look special on the big day! My questions:
1) Do any of you have photos of your wedding ceremony WITHOUT a veil (even without a birdcage, maybe just a hairpiece) , and were you happy with not having had a veil?
2) Do you think just going with the clip and some earrings would be too boring?
3) If you think a veil would be good, what length?
Thanks in advance! Sorry for all my questions. Here are pics of my dress (its a stock photo, not me) and the Sara Gabriel clip (which I do love):

OMG that clip is gorgeous!!
Where did you get it/how much?
I think it looks pretty on its own, however, I am def wearing a veil for my ceremony.

I would put in a veil from underneath, cathedral length, and wear it just for the ceremony. With the evening wedding, and that dress and hairpeice, I think it’ll give you a beautiful, etheral look.

I got married in July of 2012 and decided to go with no veil. I didn’t feel like it went with my look. I made a beaded comb for my hair. check out my wedding [post moderated for self promotion] to see how I looked sans a veil. I think I still looked like a bride without one. 😉

@sammopup: gorgeous hair clip. i think a long, simple veil positioned under the clip would look amazing. don’t cover it up. it would even look great without a veil of any sort.

@sammopup: I LOVE that comb so pretty!
I think you could still do a veil but somrthing like this and place it underneath. I think just a simgle teir simple veil would look best with your dress!

or like this directly behind it

@weddingbound: I agree with you…I love this style of veil and it would really go nice with the dress….

This isn’t a ceremony pic but it shows my hair, to the side, with a clip (not exactly like yours) and earinngs. I did some pics without a veil and some with. I did wear a floor length 1 tier veil for the ceremony though. If you’d like to see a pic, I’d be happy to show you. I think no veil for an outdoor summer wedding would be wonderful (def. not too simple) but I also think if you want that added “I’m a Bride look”, the veil really does that! =)
