I did it pinned at the bottom of my up do. I did my hair myself and wasn’t sure where I was going to wear it and my now SIL said I should show off my hair since it looked so nice so I went with that!

You could always wear it at the top with the blusher over your face for the ceremony, and then move it to underneath your hair for the reception.  That’s what I’ll be doing, only I have two different veils for ceremony and reception, since my ceremony veil is cathedral length.  I know some people think you should only wear the veil for the ceremony, but I’m excited to wear one and will only get to do it this once, so I’d really like to wear it for the whole day and not just 30 minutes.  🙂

I had my hair half up/half down and had it over my face while going down the isle. I LOVE the style you posted though but I didn’t think I could pull it off. Either way, I bet it will look good!!

I planned to wear it underneath but the hairdresser didnt put my bun high enough to fit it in it kept sliding out. In the end i wore it above my bun, not over my face cos I wasnt a virgin and felt that was a lie, i took it off before we left for group photos.

I’ll have some group photos with it in cos we took some at the ceremony location.

I had mine pinned at the top of my bun and wore the blusher over my face for the ceremony I had no plans on when I would take it off I just figured I’d take it off when it annoyed me but ended up wearing it the whole night

sparkles1986:  As long as you’re careful and have some help when you remove it, you should be OK.  I was concerned about that too, but we tested it out at my trial and it worked out just fine.  Plus, plenty of brides remove their veils after the ceremony anyways.  I would definitely test it out first and make sure it doesn’t give you any trouble.  🙂

I wore my great grandmother’s veil. It was about 6 ft long, and 1 ft wide and made of irish lace. We sewed it in half so it was 3 ft long and 2 ft wide, and then placed it over the updo sorta. I wore a side updo and a crystal hairpiece off to the side, so the veil was centered on my head and covered some of the updo. I took the veil off for the reception and just had the hair piece in. So its similar to what you’re looking for, but a little different because I had to work with a 100 year old veil.

I’m planning on wearing my veil tucked into the top of my bun and flowing over my shoulders. Definitely nothing over my face, I would hate that! I’ve already seen my veil on with my dress (in the store) so I have a good idea of what it’ll look like 🙂

I’m wearing my veil over my hairstyle and under my hairpiece. Then for the reception I will take out the veil and just wear the hairpiece.

Mine is waltz length.  It will be going above my updo.

I wore a chapel length veil, single tier as I didn’t plan to cover my face. I wore my hair down so it had to be at that height so it didn’t come off. I let the hairdresser decide where to put it. She did say if you do an updo and do it underneath, they always tend to pull and come off and she would’ve done it over the bun if I was going with that length veil. Obviously with a shorter veil you have more options.
