I was a firm no for a veil, however the dress I like is simple at the bottom and detailed bodice, I tried on a beautiful single tier veil with delicate shimmers in it and I love it.

i love it so hard

My dress also had a beautiful back, so like a PP, I went with a flower crown instead of a veil and didn’t regret it for a second!

kittytwo :  I got married in March too!

I admit that veils do look pretty in photos, but personally I never really wanted one. Like you, I decided early on that I did not want a veil. I decided to wear some elaborate hair jewelry instead. I don’t regret it at all!

kittytwo : I originally didn’t one but then like you thought I may regret it. I tried one on with my dress and loved it! I felt so much like a bride and it went beautifully with the dress as well as completing the look. I’m sure you would still see the beautiful back of your dress under a veil. Try some different styles on and see what you think, just to explore the option and put your curious mind at ease at least.

I wore mine for the ceremony and a little while at the reception before taking it off. I’m really glad I wore one! If you get a single tier one you should still be able to see the back of your dress.

I didn’t wear a veil and don’t regret it at all. I wore my hair half up, half down with a really pretty hair comb and fresh flowers, and didn’t want any of that compromised by a veil! Even before I firmly decided on my hair, I never really considered getting a veil.

kittytwo :  A friend of mine decided last minute to wear a veil and she got it within a week of ordering it (and I believe she got it off of Etsy and didn’t have anything custom added to it).

I am undecided if I am going to wear one but I am leaning not to.  I think I’m going to do a half up half down style then make it a side braid or loose side pony tail for the reception.  The back of my dress isn’t super fancy but some have beaded straps across my back and I don’t want to cover them up.

I love my veil and think it finishes my look perfectly 🙂
