Hi everybody, I was just looking over pictures of me in my dress from when I first tried it on in the store, and I initially thought I wanted a veil with a little bit of lace around the edges. So I tried on this veil (in the picture) and voila! It was exactly what I wanted and it seemed to match the dress perfectly.. But now as I am looking it over again, I can’t help thinking that it all looks a little dress-up-ish to me, if that makes sense.. I don’t know if I should simply go with the plain veil so that the lace doesn’t overpower all of the intricate detailing on my dress, or if the lace does acctually compliment it well.. Plus, with this veil, it has no blusher, and I always picture my Fiance lifting my veil at the end of the ceremony for our first kiss as husband and wife, but there will be no lifting of the veil with this one, I think adding a blusher would look weird..
What do you guys think? Honest opinions please, I am paying a little at a time towards my dress and I have to figure out if the next payment will go towards the veil or not..
The first picture is of me in my dress with the veil I am talking about, and the second picture is a close-up of the detailing on the top of my dress (the neckline isn’t perfect, but many people have tried it on in the shop, and I was shown a brand new one that was just shipped in and it was perfect.. Just wayyyy too big for me to try on)..
Thanks so much!

The dress and veil look gorgeous on you. I understand your concern about the combination looking a bit to much, though. Have you considered wearing the veil during the ceremony and then removing it during the reception to "let your hair down?" You really do look great in the dress with the veil, so it’s really just whether you’ll feel comfortable.

not "dress-up" at all!
I think the style of your veil suits the dress perfectly, and you are absolutely glowing in it! I love the combination!

My dress is similar to yours but I decided to have a plain veil that didn’t have any lace because I thought there was enough lace in the dress. I think it helps to bring more attention to the dress instead of making everything look busy.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate it.. I guess I just wanted to make sure that it went well before making the purchase.. They said it was the only veil that had that only had a little bit of lace as opposed to the thick edges, so I guess it’s that or plain! Too much lace on the other hand would be a bit much..
Thanks again though!

I agree. You look gorgeous!! And the veil looks like it matches perfectly. Not sure what to do about the blusher though, but I really love the veil with your dress!

You look stunning. Not dress-up-ish at all. I would not change a thing about the veil as it compliments the dress nicely. Stick with your first decision
