Plastic, because it’s see- through and won’t show up as much in your hair!

@McBezel:  I’ve definitely never seen a metal comb used in a veil–always clear plastic!

I have really thick hair, and the metal prongs (not sure if that is the right word for it) seem to be thinner and hold the veil in my hair easier. It is a little heavier though. I think some of it depends on your hair type?

Clear plastic is the way to go, so it doesn’t show in photos.

I chose metal because the teeth on the plastic combs kept breaking! The veil I bought had a plastic comb, but I removed it and attached a metal one.

@McBezel:  Heya, I create fascinators and while the metal combs seems a little fanicer I find that in the pieces that are heavier the design of the plastic comb does distribute the weight more evenly.

As someone else mentioned- you are less like to see the clear comb and having crazily thick/curly hair I do find that the plastic combs do stay better in my hair personally cause the prongs of  the metal combs (depending on the style) do have a tendency to change shape under the weight of my hair.

Im sure your veil will be beautiful- and nothing to question quality wise.

Plastic combs are more comfortable to wear, and blend in better. But they can break easily, depending on the quality of it.

@McBe: the plastic combs are better than metal for all the reason pp’s have listed above. Don’t worry it’s not a reflection of quality 😉

My veil has a metal comb because that is what my hair stylist requires – I think it has to do with how breakable the plastic is.

I have super thin hair, and plastic combs actually stay better for me… maybe because they’re lighter?
