This is my Bridesmaid’s dress (in Pewter): http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Strapless-Ruched-Satin-Ball-Gown-F13974_Bridal-Party-Bridesmaids-Shop-By-Length-Long-Bridesmaid-Dresses
They will also be wearing black opera-length gloves and a wrap to keep warm. My questions are- Is velvet warmer than satin, and will it look nice with the fabric/texture of the dress? Would velvet or satin wraps be better or fur capelets? The whole theme of the wedding is a bit gothic (the era, not the high school trend) and I’m aiming for a classical, romantic look with a hint of vampirism.
As far as my dress goes, I’m having troubles finding gloves I like at all. I really want opera length gloves that are very intricate, with corset ties, lace and embroidery all-in-one, but most of what I find is very plain. I’m considering layering opera length lace gloves under a shorter, fingerless glove of some sort, but I’m afraid it will look silly instead of intricate. Anyone know good sites for bridal gloves or have any ideas? I’m also stuck on whether to wear a wrap or fur cape.
I’m also on the look out for a nice choker- white velvet or lace with some type of swooping chain details, without being too heavy. Again the internet is failing me 🙁
