Does your contract have any information on it about going out of business? You could contact the BBB.

@MsNarwhal: You don’t have a name to track them down with? You can probably somehow get that info from the county or state, because they should have some type of record of that business.

I have their full names even their address but they’ve moved and have no phone numbers. I’m assuming I’m SOL from my money. I’m not the only person, their yelp account blew up today with similar customers today that got the same email.

Better Business Bureau or also contact the SCC in your state.

uh-oh! If BBB doesn’t work, you can always try the local news channel. They usually have a consumer reporter. I see stories like this pretty often. They’ll try and track them down for free too. And the whole bride/wedding cake angle is a good “story” they can play for for tv dramatics. Good luck!

This happened to a friend of mine three weeks ago, two weeks before her wedding. A cake, around 500 dollars, paid by check… defintely investigate all legal avenues!!!!

My fiancé drove by their house and it was empty. My guess is they were foreclosed on or something and have completely bounced. Fucking assholes.

You should be able to run a search of your local public records to find out some more info about their business license and any bankruptcy proceedings.

omg im sorry to hear that

If you paid by credit card, you can file a claim with the credit card company and they investigate to determine if you got what you paid for and sometimes reimburse you. Otherwise, determine if you’re ready to ready to go down legal avenues and take them to small claim court to receive some sort of settlement.

Find those assholes on Facebook and email everyone of their “friends.”

They only have a facebook for their business and its already blown up with posses people. If anyone ordered from Fines Family Bakery I suggest you start looking for a new bakery.
