- Wedding: July 2012
Ceremony/Reception/Catering: Royal Ambassador (Caledon). http://www.theroyalambassador.com We had the tent, which we loved. It was far enough away from the main hall that nothing really distracted us. The food was good, the venue is gorgeous. Stella was also excellent to work with.
Officiant: Christiane Bristow (http://www.ceremoniestoremember.ca/). By far one of the best vendors we had. Christiane worked with us to personalize our ceremony. It really was all about us. It reflected our senses of humour and kept our guests interested in what was going on. She also has a great eye for how to set up the ceremony for the best photography shots.
Coordinator: Leena from Let’s Party. Leena is good for day off stuff, but I found she couldn’t really provide me with the more unique vendors I wanted. I had to do a lot of the work myself.
Photographer: Caitlin den Boer (http://adelitarose.com/). Again, one of our best vendors. We haven’t gotten our photos back yet, but I know they’re going to be excellent. She’s also super friendly and easy to work with.
DJ/Band: The Doubts (http://www.thedoubtsonline.com/) The other vendor my guests couldn’t stop talking about. These guys had the floor packed all night. We went to see them for my bachelorette party and it made all my guests pumped up for the wedding. They’re so much fun and they have a great mix of music.
Florist: Sandra from Astra Florists/Tolyn (http://www.tolyn.ca/) I opened up the flower box and all you heard was gasp. The flowers were so much better than I ever imagined. Sandra was also the only florist I worked with who really took the time to show me how different combinations would look together. They were incredible and I loved them.
Centrepieces:I did my own using those gel balls that you add water to so that they expand. Then we stuck candy skewers in them.
Cake: Tracy from Blondie’s Bakery (http://www.blondiesbakery.ca/) Original, delicious cupcakes. We were very happy with Tracy. She made cupcakes that matched our camel/beaver theme.
Dress: Beashawn (Brampton). Great ladies to work with. Very nice. Didn’t even complain when I came in to try on the same dress three times (which I bought). It was an Ella.
Bridesmaid or Best Man Dress: Alfred Angelo, from various locations (due to bridesmaids locations)
Hair Stylist: Sonique (http://www.soniquehairdesign.com/) They did a great job. I loved my hair, my mom loved her hair, most of us loved our hair. Might have a bit of a problem with super curly hair though.
MUA: Stacey Levine. Stacey was awesome. When she held up the mirror when she finished with me, I barely recognized myself.
Invitations: Sth Blue from etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop/sthblue) (printed at Staples). I loved my invitations. I didn’t like the traditional designs so i spent days combing etsy for the right designer. Niki from Something Blue makes an effort to stay outside the box. She also worked really quickly and made changes when I realized there was a mistake months later.
Rings: We made them overseas.
Limo: Erin Mills Limo (http://www.erinmillslimo.com/). I called these guys the day before my wedding (which is a long story I just don’t have the energy to talk about anymore) and they were awesome. they offered me a deal even though they knew I was in a corner and made me email them to make sure everything was alright after they sent the confirmation. Such great people.
Tuxes: Tuxedo Royale. No complaints. The men looked sharp.
Camel: Yes, we rented a camel! From the Bowmanville zoo. The guys in charge were awesome, treated the guests well and had good control of the camel. We were thrilled with them.
Photobooth: Infinity Photobooth (http://www.infinityphotobooth.com/) Good photobooth. I thought the attendants could have been more proactive, but it was fairly popular and people enjoyed it. The book they gave me at the end looked awesome.
Decor: To Suit Your Fancy. I wasn’t happy with these guys. The decor looked fine, but after we agreed to the estimate they added on more charges. It was the day before the wedding so I felt they did it because I had no choice. I woudn’t recommend them.
Linens: Ti Amo (http://www.tiamodecor.com/). I was happy with Maria. Her website is very formal, which isn’t my style, but we met with her anyway. She actually had a good funky vision that suited our wedding. Prices were also good.
