As far as I know, if there is another wedding going on at the church I think you’re restricted to only using the Feildhouse space for pictures (maybe you can do a couple outside the church as a cool back drop). St. James park or even the Distillary might be a fun spot for pics (however the permits at the distillary for photos is pretty pricey).

The courtyard that runs between the church and fieldhouse  is generally reserved for cocktail hour by whomever is renting the church. My wedding is on a Friday, so I imagine I wont be as restricted as a Saturday bride in terms of popping in for a photo or two.

Berkeley (church and field house) is all bring your own booze, which is fantastic. We are saving about $1000 compared to other places we looked at that supply booze. The best part is you can return unopened wine and liquor to the LCBO.

We were going to look at Steam Whistle, but they don’t book any Saturdays that the Jays are playing (so that reduced # of avaialble dates), they are renovating in October 2016 (reduced the # of dates). A friend of a friend used Steam Whistle, which was lovely, but its bare bones. You have to bring/rent everything.

If you like Steam Whistle check out Leons Roundhouse which is right next door. Same look, probably more available dates than Steam Whistle. ** Bar costs at Steam Whistle were more expensive than Berkeley

brideinthesix:  thank you for taking the time to write all that! So helpful!

We’re really into craft beer, so we thought Steamwhistle would be a great place but we want more variety than just one type. And we don’t want to be stuck with Moosehead/Canadian/etc so being able to bring our own is probably going to be a big factor.

I love different parts of both Berkeley venues, I’d have such a hard time choosing between them! I just double checked your date. I go to an event there every year that I think might be the same week!

areyouthebride:  I had my heart set on the Berkeley Church, but the venue was just too big for us. We’re expecting approx. 100-110 guests and the Church is much bigger in person than I expected. I also have an uncle who can’t really do stairs anymore and that was another deciding factor. They have no elevator and 3 sets of stairs. I’d be happy to answer any other questions if I can! Happy planning.
