Hey!
I live in Ottawa, but had a Destination Wedding with no photography, Bridesmaid or Best Man or anything like that.. But I want to say it’s great to have some Ottawa bees out there! Yay Ottawa!
And here’s what I can share:
Dress: Sophia Tolli “Anne” bought at Dominique Lévesque Bridal on Carling Avenue – loved their selection and service, although I didn’t use their seamstress because it seemed too expensive
Seamstress: Valérie Cousineau – she is a teacher at Richard Robinson and freelance worker. She did alterations to my dress, and made my mother’s dress (and other ensembles) from scratch. Very, very talented, nice, and inexpensive for the service offered, pm me if you want her coordinates
Suit: Moores
Rings: Engagement ring at Doucet in Galeries de Hull, Wedding set for me at Ben Moss at Carlingwood (we first bought it at Ben Moss at St-Laurent shopping centre, but the service was sooo awful and we had problems with the rings, we returned it and bought the same set at Carlingwood cause I loved the set even if I didn’t like the store).
Wedding band for my husband at Wedding Jewellers in Kanata. Very nice rings, the shop owners are fantastic and the prices are amazing because they don’t have rent to pay. It took a long time to get the ring though, and it wasn’t the store’s fault, more the manufacturer… which is unfortunate because the manufacturer is the biggest one in Canada (Malo) – every store uses them, so be in advance for your wedding band.
Invites: Bridal line from Michaels
Thank you notes: mix from online order from future shop and some DIY stuff at Michaels
Travel agency for our Destination Wedding: Marlin Travel in Place d’Orleans. They were very, very efficient; however not always nice with all our guests, but that’s more the lady we dealt with and her personality than the agency. I would go for them again, they made it work and when people in the Dominican didn’t answer fast enough (which can happen sometimes!) she’d get answers quick!
Good luck ladies!! π
