Location: Colorado Springs
We had a mixed experience with this venue. View:Absolutely stunning. We hardly needed ceremony decorations, because we had a great backdrop surrounding us. We saved a ton on flowers that way.
Food:They don’t allow outside alcohol, caterers, or food. So we had to use theirs. The food was very good. Everyone liked it, I didn’t see any plates taken away with food on them. So was their food worth it? Yes. Plus the cake was included (again, no outside food!).
Cake:Y’all, they know how to bake a cake! It was more delicious than most of the cakes I taste tested out on town. We gave them our topper two days ahead of time and they created an AMAZING cake decorated PERFECTLY that worked in our topper seamlessly. Awesome.
Coordinator:So so. We met with our coordinator for food tasting, but she was in and out of the appointment. We had originally agreed on a setup for the chairs for the ceremony, but after seeing the venue, we gave her an updated guest estimate and a new setup for the ceremony. Further e-mails back and forth solidified the plans. However, when the big day came, my husband arrived early to find that the original chair plan was setup, which was not only the wrong placement but also too few number of seats. He worked for nearly an HOUR with the staff to get it right because our coordinator was nowhere to be seen. Had she been there, it may have been done correcly in the first place, or at least corrected without his persistence. This was a big sticky point for us since it started his day off with more stress than necessary, I must note that our correspondence was all e-mail since we were planning a Destination Wedding.
Price:I won’t get into details, but I will say that I was not surprised with any crazy extra charges. Everything cost exactly what we were quoted. Thumbs up on charging the sticker price and not a penny more!
Service:The wait staff was awesome. They were enthusiastic (like this was their first wedding, not the 100th they’ve done). We felt very welcome! The bartender made the most delicious cojitos EVER and I loved their presentation of our signature drinks! They helped clean up and even left us a moment alone to dance afterward.
Weather:Early July in Colorado experiences heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon (3-4pm ish), but the venue does have alternate locations for the ceremony to make sure that you don’t get rained on. We were grateful for the option! It did rain on my wedding day, but we were already inside eating at the reception, so no worries about that!
That’s all I can think of, PM me if you have any questions!
