So, I know you don’t tip the proprieter, so if someone owns their own business/is self-employed you don’t tip them, but aside from that I’m seeing different things on different websites. Based on the knot, I only have to tip the hair/makeup artists, the photographer, the videographer, and the DJ (I don’t have any of the other people/services from that list, except for venue staff which have a tip automatically included in my bill). But another website said I should also tip the caterer. Is the caterer usually someone that should be tipped? (Caterer is only providing chefs and food, not servers).

I’m a horrible person because it didn’t actually OCCUR to me to tip my vendors!
In regards to tipping caterers though, I’ve read that it’s a good idea 🙂

I’m wondering about tips myself. Do you still tip the photographer if they work for themselves?

I think if the photographer is self employed or owns their own studio, you don’t tip them.

Yes you should tip the caterer because they probably have staff helping set out the food, deliver, clean up, etc. The tip was included in my total bill.
