I fully comprehend the fact that I’ve got a LONG way to go before my wedding (414 days to be exact) but, maybe it’s just me, I want to book my “big” vendors ASAP. We already have venue, caterer, and I just sent out the contract/deposit for the photographer (yay, e-pics soon hopefully!) and now I’m looking at DJs and hopefully we’ll book that soon, too.
But is there anyone I’m missing? I’m DIYing the flowers, so I don’t need a florist, my caterer does the cake, so i don’t need a bakery.
Any advice/comments would be much appreciated!

i dont know if we were just lucky, but we didn’t book any of our major vendors until 8 months before.
obvi the biggest vendor was our reception site/caterer and our officiant (my old youth group pastor)…
we booked our photog next (8 months out), cake lady (7 months out), florist (7 months out)
friends are our videographer/dj…
can’t really think of anythign else…

I do have an officiant already. FH actually work for the same company and one of our favorite upper management people happens to be an Ordained Minister and offered to do the service. We were both pumped because we were worried our ceremony would be pretty short/boring (we aren’t doing a religious ceremony and aren’t interested in a unity candle or anything) but we know he will make it meaningful.

I did everything early. Like 2 weeks after we were engaged I had everything, which is awesome because now I can focus on the fun things and not stress. I think you’ve got all your basics covered! You can start making a list of any DIY projects you want to do and get started on them, I’m not the type of person that can wait to the last minute on anything so to me starting my DIY projects early was necessary.

I started putting togethe my DIY list the day after I got engaged, lol! But it has grown significantly since then…
