(Closed) Vent about Dr. Bernstein/dieting in general

I think that losing 12 lbs in 2 weeks is extreme and it’s no wonder that you gained a few back so soon, a lot of it was probably water!

I would look into your health–there really must be a medical reason why your metabolism is so slow and starvation diets are just a band aid on a larger problem

I would focus on eating real unprocessed foods and not crash dieting before the wedding–it’s only going to stress you out if you put all of this pressure on yourself and it’s not healthy to lose 20lbs in 2 weeks!

 

I had a similar freak out moment just before the 1 month mark where I ate nothing besides 1 smoothie or 1 meal replacement bar a DAY for a week because I’m up 15 lbs from where I would like to be—but then I realized that I was torturing myself, the most I  (and you) should do is eat well, watch the calories, exercise, and think positive. 

 

You’re going to look great no matter what!

@fivemonthsnotice:  Dr. Bernstein is basically a starvation diet.  On his program you are usually eating 800-900 calories a day.  So while you loose weight, you are also screwing your metabolism.  From what I understand it is a plan that is also supposed to be followed forever.

As soon as you eat regularly, your body will store the food because it doesn’t know when you are going to starve it again.

But if you are worried, you should see your doctor about your thyroid again as it can be a factor in weight loss/control.
