@jessdoxy:  Just remember to be kind to your jewelry. Just as easily as a jeweler can move metal so can you. When you get home try having a place that you put your jewelry and not wear it at home. Only wear it when you go out. This will help to keep from having more chances to bang it on things. I am sorry though. That is always a bummer. 🙁

Just have the jeweler tighten the prongs, or do it yourself if you have the right tools. It happens to everyone, my diamond was loose and I didn’t know it until I went to get it inspected.

If you recently had it sized then that is pretty common. The jeweler should be able to take care of it no problem, but be careful wearing it until you get it to have the prongs tightened. Good luck!

Dont feel bad about it, I bumped my ring into a wall and made the diamond loose. Before I was able to take it to the jeweler, I bumped it again and “fixed it.” The jeweler laughed at me and said I bumped it back into place as there was nothing for them to fix.  It’s just something that happens and we need to learn to be a little gentler with our rings. I don’t agree with the first post saying to take it off when you get home, I wear my ring all the time!! Why on Earth would I only wear it when I go out lol!

Yeah and FH is sitting there watching the game too. He has watched BOTH playoff games today and hasn’t given me control of the remote so I’m sitting on the bee instead.

@jessdoxy:  I completely understand. But once you get used to it just check it bi-weekly or so. It is always better to check your ring than loose a diamond.

@sheepandbear:  The reason I say take it off at home, because that is the most likely time for our jewelry to get dirty and banged up. I basically grew up in a jewerly store and I constantly see rings that have lotion, makeup, hair, etc. and stones knocked loose from the women cleaning and all and their rings are discusting.

I dont mean that every person should take it off if they are disaplined enough to take them off before they put lotion, makeup, etc. on. Just it is much easier to remember to take it off right when you get home, and make a habit of it, than only when you do the things that can dirty or hurt the ring.

Does tht make sense?
