Wow, 3 times!  We thought we were bad at 2.  We were looking at house #1, and wasnt totally sold on it and kept looking.  It ‘d been on the market for 3 or 4 months so we figured we’d just leave it on the back burner.  Then we saw and LOVED house #2.  We saw it one evening after work at about 7pm.  Then we had one more to look at the next morning at 8am that looked like it had a lot of potential.  We didnt like that one, so our realtor headed right back to the office to call house #2’s realtor to put in a offer… and we found out they’d accepted an offer at 9pm the night before just an hour after we left!  So having seen literally every house on the market that fit our criteria we decided 3 days later to go for house #1.  Called our realtor to draw up an offer… he called that ones realtor, and guess what.. they’d accepted an offer just earlier that day!  3rd house we went to put a offer in on we got though, but only cause we expanded our searched and upped our budget 20%.

Good luck with your search!  You’ll look back and laugh about it… someday…

This has happened to us several times in the few months we’ve been looking. Most of the houses had been on the market a day or two before they went under contract. It’s so frustrating.

If you tell your realtor exactly what you’re looking for, they should be able to scout houses before they even hit the market. Ours should be doing that, she’s just falling a little short.

Happened to us! So frusterating! I’ll tell you what, though, the house we ended up with is absolutely perfect and I wouldn’t change it for the world! I like to think those other houses just weren’t the right ones, even though they seemed it at the time. Your house will find you πŸ™‚

Where we live, houses are off the market within 3-7 days, always, unless they are so bad they need to be burned to the ground. I guess it is a good lesson in being decisive and knowing what you want! We just closed on a place on wednesday that had 10 offers within the first 4 days.

The market in our area is strange. Some homes are snapped up with multiple offers in a week, and others sit on the market for years. We’re not seriously looking, but I can’t help have “home lust” over a couple places. I try not to get too attached because they’ll probably sell before we are buying… πŸ™

LOl! We went to see this one house today that had been in the market for like 4 days. I actually saw it the first day it came out and called my realtor. He scheduled for today, and right after we saw it, my realtor who knows the the seller’s realtor said it was about to get under contract. The funny thing is I liked the location, but not so much the house. We already had seen one we really liked but is farther away from hubby’s job. The house is GREAT almost like new and has been in the market for almost 4 months. We are planning to put an offer on that one. Sounds strange, but when a house is for you…it will be.

My advice is, if you find one you really like, don’t wait too long! Good luck!

That’s totally normal for my Fiance and I! πŸ˜›  We looked for over a year and put in at least 10 offers and got beat out every time.  It took a while but we finally found one that we love. It was worth the wait. πŸ™‚

Most of the houses we looked at went on the market less than 2 weeks.  When you see the perfect house, ya gotta move on it. I think the house we bought was on the market for a grand total of 11 days.
