Wait, what?  She is giving birth THAT DAY?  A baby that has not yet been conceived?  How is that even possible to assume?  Mom already knows what day nearly a year in the future your sister and her husband plan to have sex and knows that she will give birth exactly 40 weeks to the day afterward?

First she KNOWS she is going to give birth on an exact day more than 9 months from now?

SHES NOT EVEN PREGNANT!

Jeeze! Tell them to get over it and plan your wedding.

@BeachBride2014:  I only have brothers but that sounds a bit batty. I’m shocked your mom thinks it’s normal

Does your mom know something you don’t?

If she is not pregnant already, who knows how long it will take her to get pregnant. I would call and ask your sister if she is expecting and if she is not let her know you booked your venue and the date. If she isn’t pregnant already, she would not be due in May more like July.

@BeachBride2014:  Wow I had to re-read that post like 5 times.  Even people who are actually pregnant have a difficult time predicting the delivery day of the baby.  Just plan your wedding, it’ll be fine.

The only way I can see her being able to predict the birth to the day is if she’s induced for some reason – eg. diabetics are often induced a few weeks before full term for health reasons, so it’s planned a way in advance.

And if she’s induced, frankly she’ll be able to move that if she even is ready to give birth by then, but you’ve got a long way to go before that’s even a possibility!

@BeachBride2014:  I completely missed that we were talking about 2014 here. Yes that is absurd that 1 year and 5/6 months from now will be the exact date that your sister will be giving birth. I am so glad your mom called you back and apologized.

May 30, 2014 is when she is going to have a baby and today is November 21, 2012.

Uhm… let me see – pregnancies are 9 months give or take and your wedding date is 18 months away.

Several species of whale have gestation periods of around 18 months. The African Elephant has the longest gestation of any land animal 19-22 months, (she’s not a whale or an elephant is she?)

It’s 2012 and she already knows when in 2014 she’s giving birth? IS SHE AN ELEPHANT?! Seriously, though… no. If she happens to get pregnant, you’ll roll with the punches. You can’t plan your life around your sisters possible fertility.

This is pretty crazy. Mystery baby does not trump wedding. If she were pregnant that would be one thing, but TTC? Plan your big day. They can get over themselves.
