- Wedding: September 2011
Sorry in advance for the long vent but YEP, it happened to me!!!! After all the horror stories, I never thought I would be one of them. We hired not one, but TWO photographers for our wedding. We even found them highly recommended through The Knot. So it wasn’t some fly by night company. They sent us a link to preview our pictures and they are HORRIBLE. Like, not even sorta bad, AWFUL. Terrible lighting, blurry, out of focus, wrong flash, wrong camera settings, you name it, it went wrong. They even took about 50 pictures of our ceremony and every one of them has the microphone in one of our faces!!!!!!!!!! I mean, come on!!! As a professional photographer, why didn’t they look at their pictures and be like, uh maybe I should change positions?! Or during our reception when their flash was so bright that it didn’t show the beautiful sunset in the background, why didn’t they look at their camera and be like, hmmm, maybe I should use a softer flash?!
No kidding, there is not. one. single. picture. we. can. frame. Not one.
Our pictures (all 1600 of them) look like random drunk pictures from our guests with cheap cameras. The pictures do not look like they were taken with professional cameras, they are not “crisp” like pro pics should be. They failed to capture ANY of the important pictures. For instance, there isn’t a picture of our first kiss, our first dance or the bouquet toss. Heck, there isn’t even ONE good picture of me and my husband. Oh and there’s one blurry picture of me and my dad walking out. And not even one salvageable picture of our ceremony. For the life of me, I don’t know what went wrong with our photographers. It’s extremely upsetting.
I have been stewing over this for a week now. I’ve cried, I’ve gotten angry, I’ve been upset when I see other’s wedding photos… I’ve filed a formal complaint with the company. I’m hoping that they’ll refund us some money, but I don’t know. I should find out something tomorrow. But that doesn’t take back our wedding night, and I’m so sad that I’ll never have professional pictures to cherish and frame and make an album out of.
Keep in mind, we got married in Dallas, but we live in Newport Beach. So, in a effort to move on from our photography nightmare, Darling Husband and I decided that we would try and find a great photographer out by where we live in Orange County. I want to put my wedding dress back on, have him put his suit back on and have a fun wedding reshoot. We never got engagement pictures done, (adding insult to injury we have ended up with NO good pictures of our whole engagement/wedding process), so I guess this is a way to ease the pain.
Sorry for the long rant, I just had to get it all out. Sooooo can anyone that lives out our way in the OC recommend a GOOD photographer that could take some fun, artsy, romantic, in the moment, memorable “let’s pretend this is our wedding day” pics???
Please message me on here with their contact info or website if you have it.
