Just need to vent today! I have been working with a local store called The Greeting Shoppe for my wedding invitations. I have been working directly with the owner. My sister used this store a few years ago with no problems. I ordered my proofs about a month ago after physically going in to the store. Waited a couple of weeks and never got them. So I called and he got them to me a day or two later. The proof inevitably had some things to correct, so I called to let them know the changes that needed to be made. Waited a few more days before getting the corrections back, which I again had to call and ask for after not receiving them. When I got the corrections, he found out that thermography printing happens to be $200 more than the original ballpark (he knew I wanted thermography all along). Now I’m just a few weeks away from needing to send out my invitations and this left a really bad taste in my mouth. I emailed back immediately after receiving the news and asked for a final quote and to let them know the second proofs looked good. A few more days have passed and still no response. He also addressed his last email to me and called me by a different name.
I know we are in the height of wedding season and he’s probably got a lot of orders but come on. I shouldn’t have to call you multiple times to give you my money. This also makes me nervous because he was supposed to be assembling the invites (apparently pocketfolds come in pieces) and his unresponsiveness has left me worried. I need these invites in like 3 weeks and they aren’t ordered yet!
So I’ve decided to go to a company online that has good reviews called Reaves Engraving. For the same price I can do letterpressing. They have been really good, only complaint so far is that I called the store to correct things in the proof they provided and the lady I spoke with gave me attitude about the font and my wording.
At this point, I’m about to print my own damn invites! Hoping Reaves pulls through. They have good reviews and I am really in a bind now. I don’t care if the woman doesn’t like my wording, do as I say and enjoy the money I give you. Yeeesh.
