Maybe they are planning on surprising you by throwing a shower for their side of the family?

i’ll be honest, i would have to be really committed to the person/friendship to drive 90mins one way for a shower and there is no way i would be able to drag my husband to a couples shower – i would happily send a gift and our regrets and leave it at that

doesnt make you feel any better about it though – im sorry you are feeling sad about this but you seem to have lots of other support which is greatl

That’s really a huge shower, so taking into account a 3 hour roundtrip drive, plus sitting through gift opening and eating, it’s pretty much a whole day event. If it starts in the afternoon, people won’t be getting home until when? 7 o’clock or so at night? I can understand them not coming for a shower, as it isn’t your wedding, afterall.

I am having the same issue my family lives about 6 hours away, and only my FI’s family, friends and some of my friends will be attending our Bridal Shower that my Future Sister-In-Law is hosting….she had to open up to a couples shower to make it a larger attendance…I am ok with this and I am so glad you have come to terms with your event.

I understood my family couldn’t make it since it’s so close to the holidays and my wedding is on Jan. 1, I know they will be making a large sacrifice to come to my big day, I could not expect them to do so twice especially since they have small children.
