Ok take a breath.  Dealing with insurance companies are a process not an event. I don’t really understand why they say you don’t have insurance if you have the card.  It’s probably there just under the wrong name, did they look up by subscriber number/SSN.  I used to have a problem like that because people like to stick an extra letter in my name, so I had to always use my ssn (which is illegal but that’s another story).

I’d call back and see if there was somone else you can talk to, and then go around your boss directly to HR.

I am having an equally frustrating situation with my HR and insurance. I finally got insurance coverage the beginning of November. I have to pay in a few hundred a month to have it but I figured it was time.

I got laid off the end of December (wasn’t a surprise to me since I was laid of the previous December as well) I specifically asked her when my insurance coverage would end. I was told the end of January and then I would be offered COBRA.

I had an appt 1/8/2013. I checked my benefits the night before and no coverage. I immediately called HR and they said it was taken care of and that I had insurnace through the end of the month.

Appt was denied due to lack of coverage and I called insurance company because I want to get basic bloodwork done, a perscription filled and I want to get a dental cleaning before my insurance runs out.

UGH…waiting for more hoops and see if I can get this taken care of before I run out of time.
