SerendipityBride:  I can kind of understand where you are coming from, but at the same time, each photographer has his/her own style so their pictures of different events are bound to have some similarities.

Do you personally know the bride in the recent wedding? If not, then honestly it doesn’t matter and it’ll be best to just let it go. You worked really hard on getting pictures and concepts, and you know what? Your pictures will turn out even more perfect because your photographer had a trial run for pictures she normally doesn’t shoot! She got some practice for the kind of pictures you want to take, so on your big day, the picture taking will proceed even more smoothly.

Is it annoying? A little. But not enough to ruin your day over, you know?

I understand feeling this way, but ultimately you didn’t invent the poses. You said yourself that you took inspiration from others wedding photos.

It sucks that it’s same venue and same poses only months apart, but really who cares? Do you really think anyone looking at your wedding photos is gonna go “oh I bet she copied that girl from a few months ago!”

SerendipityBride:  So you are upset that she stole ideas that you stole off other peoples photos and sent her? At another person’s wedding that you do not even know? Ok.

SerendipityBride:  But what is the point of being upset about something you did yourself? And about some bride’s photos who you don’t even know and will probably never met?

It doesn’t matter if the photos you pinned are not trendy at the moment- you still stole them off someone else so you really have no reason to be upset that someone else might do the same. Talk about first world problems.

Take it up with the photographer if you are upset, but I am inclined to agree this is not the biggest of deals.

I truly don’t see the need to be upset. At all. You took inspiration from other photos. These aren’t trademark poses you came up with yourself. Even if they aren’t ‘trendy’ or make up 75% of Pinterest posts, who cares?

And you don’t even know if this other bride looked through your boards or not. It could just be a coincident and you’re noticing only the similar things. As much as you may claim your ideas were so unique, you still do not know if this bride “copied” you.

And really, why does it matter? Are these other photos going to pasted at your wedding so guests can gawk and say what a copycat you are? No!

So let it go. There are other things to get worked up about. It’s fine to be mildly annoyed, but don’t let it get to you.

I’m sure absolutely no one from your guest list is going to look at the photographer’s blog. Your wedding won’t look like a copycat wedding.

If you are so concerned of other people copying your ideas, why are you copying others yourself?

Any chance you can post a link to the offending album so we can see what these poses are? I just can’t picture anything as unique as you describe such that you would feel somehow cheated by this. You created a pinterest board, maybe the photographer showed it to the other client and she loved it or maybe she didn’t and the photos are purely coincidental. I really don’t see what the issue is. Inspiration photos can obviously be inspiration for other people too. No one is going to be comparing the two weddings – except perhaps the photographer.

Your photos will look different because they’ll have you, your Darling Husband, and your friends and family in them. That’s what the photos are of, after all… not the poses.

I would be a little peeved by this. But try to put a positive spin to it… This could just have been a trial run for your wedding pics. Now you know she’ll do a good job and get the right pics.

SerendipityBride:  are you afraid you won’t get featured on her blog because she used the exact style on someone esle or afraid other people might say you copied this bride you don’t even know?

White dress, flowers, vows, cake… All weddings are copycats of each other. You can’t be upset that a photographer used inspiration that you gave after you took the inspiration from somewhere else. They aren’t your ideas. Do yourself a favor and find something more important to worry about.

I’m sorry, how can you be mad that someone stole a POSE? Who are you, Zoolander? This is one of the more ridiculous threads I’ve seen on here, and that is really saying something…
