Ughhh…I am so mad! Please bear with me while I vent, then feel free to send hugs and tell me how much these people suck!! 🙂
So I am applying to grad school. All application materials are due July 1st. I checked on June 18, and was told everything was in except for one of my three letters of recommendation. The person whose letter was missing was a part-time professor I had asked back in JANUARY!! I email her that day (June 18), and she finally writes back YESTERDAY (2 days before the deadline) saying she is too busy to write it. Are you kidding me???
I have documentation (back and forth emails) from January and February in which we planned what needed to be done (filling out the form and stuff) and where I could send it to her. Do you think I should complain to the school? I don’t want to look like a whiner.
So luckily I was able to get another professor to write one for me last minute.
Then, it gets BETTER!
I get an email from the school telling me my undergraduate transcript has not been received. Now, back on June 18 when I called, I was specifically checking on this transcript (finding out about the missing letter was the surprise). The person I spoke to said my undergrad transcript from so-and-so college was in. Now they tell me they don’t have it! And they ask “who told you we did? Did you get a name?” No! I did not get a name because I figured the people in your office were competent enough that I wouldn’t have to! Either way, it is not there. (And can someone please tell me how she knew the name of my undergrad transcript if it wasn’t there? It was there, she obviously misplaced it!)
So I call my undergrad college, and sure enough they have on file that they sent it on May 18.
I am just speachless. They are sending another one now. But the chances of all materials arriving on time are slim. And none of this is my fault!
I don’t understand anything I could have done differently, and I don’t know what to do now.
