I have been pretty good about not letting little things get to me, but I just got a text from my Maid/Matron of Honor asking for the number of my seamstress. My wedding is in 10 DAYS. Her dress was sitting in my house for a year and I kept pushing that she needed to try it on since we got it so long ago. Eventually, I just brought it to her place and we found out that it indeed needed major alterations. This was three weeks ago and I told her she better make an appt ASAP to see if anyone would still take her on short notice. I am super pissed that she is waiting until less than two weeks to even contact anyone. There aren’t a lot of seamstresses in the area and mine was pretty busing during wedding season. I bought the dress, made all the DIY stuff, let them pick their own accessories, etc… this was her ONE DUTY and I am super pissed that I have to worry about my Maid/Matron of Honor not having a dress this close to the wedding.

🙁 I’m sorry, you just vent away. I really hope she can get everything taken care of and not look like a hot mess on the day of and if she does, stick her at the back of pictures lol O and just think, it will make you look 10x better because her dress won’t fit right!

Yep, if her dress isn’t altered correctly, she’ll look silly, not you.

I agree with PPs. It was lame of her to wait so long, and if she looks silly it’s her own fault!

I sympathise. My wedding is four weeks away and three of my four BMs have still not bought shoes. I told them six months ago that they could pick any plain, navy blue shoe. The only Bridesmaid or Best Man who has a pair only has them because I bought them for her!

UPDATE
Thank you for all the support!
She magically did find someone to alter the dress at 10 days notice… we’ll see how it turns out.
If she hadn’t gotten it altered, there is no way she could have possibly worn it with the torn zipper, so it would be her not wearing a bridesmaid dress at all, not wearing an ill-fitting one. I am still kind of upset with her for this and for other reasons, but I think it is going to be ok. Thanks again for reading!
