Am I the only person who feels like killing someone over bridesmaids dresses? I’ve been engaged for over a year now and the only times that I’ve seen bridezilla-like attitude come out of me is in relation to bridesmaid dresses.
1: David’s Bridal. I chose the colour of green that I wanted. I looked online to see my choices. I booked the appt. The girls tried on the dozen dresses that I’d liked online… only to be told that in Canada, you can’t get any of those dresses in the nice green. We would have to go to the States or order them online– without having seen the dress in the colour ever– if we wanted to get them. Nope!
2: I picked different dresses and found a store selling them for a decent price. I rounded up all my girls and we went to do measurements and order the dresses. After all is said and done I look over and realize that the woman has written the colour of the dresses as Lilac. NOPE again! Got that fixed, thankfully.
3: The dresses come in! 2 of my girls were having their dresses sent to the locations of the store in their hometowns… except one girl’s didn’t get there, and when I went and made them look for it, the dress was missing. I stood there and had the woman in the Toronto store search through the closets while on the phone with whoever was at the Hamilton store. Eventually the dress was found.. in the back of the closet in Toronto, with a big tag on it saying, “send to HAMILTON”. UGH.
4: Now, my Future Sister-In-Law went on Saturday to pick up the dresses for her 3 daughters (my jr. bridesmaids and flower girl). They wouldn’t let the girls try the dresses on because apparently you’re not allowed to do that on a Saturday. No biggie, except that they got home, put the dresses on and they were WAY too tight! One girl’s dress won’t even close! She was almost in tears! My Future Sister-In-Law called the store right away and was told she’d have to call back on Monday to speak with the manager. I haven’t spoken to her yet so I don’t know what’s gone on. I sent the manager an e-mail to let them know how disappointed I’ve been, but I’m just so frustrated right now.
And of course, my Future Mother-In-Law was with them when this whole thing went down, and when I saw her yesterday, she pretty much made it seem like it was all my fault, the whole thing was ruined, and I’d forced them to get these expensive dresses that don’t even fit. Grrrr!
